Hello bro, since the school won't waive the ESL program for you, I suggest you take another IELTS. This time strive harder to meet the requirements needed. This is a far more cost effective way of handling that, you spend about #75k which cannot be compared with 3500CAD.

Lastly, does this your uncle truly want to sponsor you? Or you just want to use his SOA to get the TRV?
My thoughts exactly, it's even 68k and I'm pretty sure u will get the targeted band with a little more input than spending so much on that ESL. Pls, reconsider ur decision

Hello ...
While submitting my visa, I committed over 12 million naira, this is asides the 2500CAD I already paid as part of my tuition fees. 2 landed docs worth over 8m was committed. Our house and a rented apartment we have was also surveyed and committed.
My mum is my sponsor and I am the only child.
I got my passport today and the reason for rejection was lack of funds. This is laughable because I didn't expect it. Please I need your feed backs.

It's nice to see that almost everything was commuted to your study. However, how much was in your account and that of your sponsor? Did you sponsor pay fees and or transfer funds into your account? Was there any huge unexplained deposit to your account or your sponsor's own?

I didn't submit my ac statement because I had no intentions of sponsoring myself. My sponsor (mum) had over 12 million closing balance. This is excluding part of tuition fees I had already paid for.

Huge or unexplained sum? I really do not think so. Of course funds were coming in gradually because we had intentions for school but it was not like 5m just dropped into the account like that.

First sorry for the delay, I will advise you reapply again cos if you can repackage well you will get it approved this time. Pls help me answer these few questions: 1.How much is your tuition fee?
2. How much did your uncle pledge to commit for your studies and upkeep?
3. Is your uncle the sole signatory to the company's account?
Before you answer I think if your uncle can pay your tuition fee and your upkeep (atleast CAD10,000) into your personal bank account then you will be fine on the side of funds. Atleast with this you will have something in your account to show.
NB: No matter how much our sponsors are pledging for our studies as long as we are around the age of 20yrs above I THINK it will be WISE to also include our own statement of account no matter how small the cash in it is(it will help tackle personal asset).

Firstly,

I won't buy the idea of you quitting. I read a case where @Austinpee4 narrate a case of someone who was denied about 4 or 5 times and almost gave up. Not until the last attempt and was given.

If you give up then you have been wasting your time all this while.

Never ever give up, it's never an option.

Stories aside, order for you file.
At the bolded above, I have I have some questions for you if you can answer.

1. What's your Age bracket?

2. How long have you been working?

3. Do you have a bank account where you receive salary?

4. Are you married or single?

My questions are based on my logical thoughts why you maybe denied.

You just have to reapply because you are bound to succeed.

Exactly!!

I believe your reasoning is similar to mine about a good profile like this.

But I noticed that in some cases, these VO's want to see the applicants effort as regards what he/she have in bank even if an uncle or aunt commits his/her whole life to help.

Smh.

It is well.

I think that next time you would have to. Things have changed now cos of the economic situation in Nigeria. When I applied in 2014, I didn't put my bank statement cos my dad was sponsoring but with faith I paid full tuition fee of $27,000 and attached the receipt. And he transferred $20K( 2 years upkeep) to a friend in the US and mentioned on his affidavit that once I get into Canada and open an account, his friend will send the money to me.

Landed properties are mainly for hometie but since you don't have it I want to believe your parents and siblings are all here in Nigeria? if yes you can use them as your hometie by explaining to the vo how close you are to them and will surely wouldn't want to stay away from them for long.... as for your sponsor he/she can include the landed property, if your parents have any landed property you can include it as well.

Congratulations on your admission and welcome to the forum. The route will depend on you as both routes are the same, though if you intend submitting lots of documents then use the paper route (but mind you that your passport will be with cic during the entire process of the application), but if your documents aren't much then you might use the online route (you don't need to submit your passport until when a decision has been made of your application).
Upfront medical means you doing your medical at a cic designated clinic/hospital before you apply for your visa while if you don't do that before you apply then you will have to wait for the vo to send you medical Mali before you will be able to do it

Honestly, with the incessant refusal of study permit applications since the beginning of this year, i'm beginning to feel it is deliberate. There have been good applications refused for erroneous reasons even after meeting all requirements of a study permit. I have seen GCMS file contradicting the generic reasons on the refusal letter.
At this rate, one begins to wonder if they truly and carefully review applications based on it's merit or based on the general situation of Nigerian applicants. I have lived and studied outside Nigeria and likewise applied for visas outside Nigeria and saw how the process was expedient and smooth even for me a Nigerian coming from a 'High risk' country. The case was not the same when i applied for my study permit from Nigeria. It is becoming tougher as the day goes by.

While it's really unfortunate this development has seen untold emotional trauma both from the long processing time and the refusal in itself, I want to encourage those of us who have seen their application refused for one reason to the other to stay strong, keep pushing, do NOT show desperation in any form in your application, re-strategize, be consistent in your information and documents and simply trust God in this process. It's mentally derailing and can make one make a decision that he/she may not be proud of in the long run.

If your desire is to truly study and better your life in Canada, stay the course, do not be discouraged. One thing i have learnt from challenging times is that it makes you stronger, more patient with yourself, the process and equip you to even face the other challenges that will present themselves when we eventually get the study permit and strive in our endeavours in Canada.

I trust that things will ALWAYS work in our favour and the rest will soon be history. God bless us all.

If i'm to use letter of recommendation frm my employer i must request thru him before forwarding to HR. Please advise, thanks.

There is always a need to prove relationship. How about if someone to razzle dazzle Canada and get a visa, convinces a close friend to transfer money into his account to get a visa and after his gets his visa, refunds the money back? Been sponsored by a close relative and proving that relationship is always convincing than been sponsored by some stranger or friend.

You could apply for a less competitive Msc program related to your Law. Don't mind anyone saying 2.2 can't get an Msc admission, at least, I sabi two people now.
You could as well do a PGC course in any College, Humber and co.

Never give up.

Warning: stay away from the Humber PGD or PGC ill-fated program. It's been the Hercules hills of many a TRV hopefuls. Since you have a law degree, the logical progression is an LLB.

Hello Everyone. I am a silent observer on this thread and I must say, you all have been of soo much help.
So I submitted my application on the 2nd of June. And I just got back my passport only to see a refusal. The shocking part is that I am not as disappointed as I thought I would be probably because of the reason.
So let me share my profile.
I have a Bsc in Medical laboratory science. Graduated in 2012. Volunteered at an NGO in 2013. Did my internship in 2014. Served in 2015 and since 2016, I have been working at an NGO.
I graduated with a 2.1. I applied for Masters in Public health last year and 3 schools denied me. I decided to try again this year with 4 schools...one for PGD in environmental public health in Concordia University and as I expected, I got an admission. Unfortunately, I did not get any for masters in the other 3 schools.

Just laugh back at them by paying your tuition and depositing living expenses and submitting receipt. That should take care of the problem.

My profile was online! As for the study gap, I graduated since 2008. Some people say that once u have long gap from school it's an issue i.e not having any academic qualifications on ur record. But it's not true! I had my doubts as a human! But I remembered God is still God and applied!

P.s u don't need an agent! All u need is God, this forum and self-confidence that you can make it true

am also wondering, the fact that one is already in the express entry pool while applying for a TRV, does it count against one? like the spirit behind your TRV says u intend to return while express entry signifies you wish to migrate.

Canada supports legal immigrants coming to Canada. You don't have to prove ties that will induce your return. But if you are coming in on a TRV, you have to demonstrate you would return back. The calculus for someone who applies for both relief, the EE and TRV, is that you have to pass each criteria differently and the two are mutually exclusive and bear no relationship on each other. So you are good company applying for both at the same time as many other people who have done so before you.

And what makes you think even a family member can't remove the money from the applicant's account as soon as trv is gotten? The thing is this as long as the sponsor explains his or her reason for wanting to spend such hug amount on the applicant and pay the applicant's tuition fee or pay the said amount into his account (case where the school doesn't accept fees until trv is secured ). if I may ask you, why do you think cic later ask some applicants to provide another letter from the bank to assure the funds will be dully exported to canada when trv is secured?

Whether a family member takes the money out or not, won't change the fact that it is always viewed as more believable and better commitment than been sponsored by let's say a friend.
