Hello, Programmers.

I am a graduate of Chemistry but my profession is ICT, I have been able to diversify into ICT, I have projects that have done, experiences that have acquired, even skills in web development, graphics, oracle database, python programming( still a beginner ) and other skills that has actually given me an edge above those who are specialist in the field.... Na God sha!. I have a job in this field am doing presently (with Fed Govt )... Sorry for the long epistle.

My question is this, I have always wanted to get certification in oracle database but money and time has been my problem. I am now ready for the certification but my question is this: Is Oracle certification still lucrative in Nigeria, should I go for Microsoft or any other one.

I don't have problems with learning any new skill (but I don't like anything hardware ), I only need something I can use in place of Bsc. Computer science, get me projects or make me a professional in this field before I start my masters programme in information technology.

Please I need your candid advice. Thanks

Since you are already working in a ICT unit.
What application is/are being used at ur work place.
If u don't plan leaving.... Go for a course relevant to what u use/do.

I do web development most times, but I just like database and jobs don't always come on database.

I don't mind switching to any other aspect of information technology that is relevant and lucrative... The money for certification is much and I wouldn't want it to be a waste.

Web development is cool.

Yes.
The op is an example.

If u want to be CISCO certified.... CCNA might not be enough; go further. Then go wider; broaden your scope.
There are other companies manufacturing network devices.
