Conversely, fuel consumption is more than average because it comes in 6 cylinder configuration.

3. LE (luxury edition)
4. CE (compact edition)

Depending on the trim and what it has, will determine price. I would prefer a 01-03 sienna than the 97-2000 due to upgraded engine which has more hp and better mpg

That's a second generation sienna, different from the first one you asked for. This one started from 2004 upwards

i thought it was the early 2k, but there is something I have notice the body features are always the same (I.e the Second Edition you said) so why the various LE, XLE

Well they are all same shape, same engine but things inside are the difference

Like some CE don't have roof rails, some don't have leather seat, no tachometer, they are 2 wheel drive instead of 4wheel drive, some have DVD navigation screen and roof DVD, premium sound system, fog light, U-Haul attachment etc so many to mention.

So if you are on a budget, you will be looking at CE and LE but if you want the best and most loaded you will only settle for XLE or limited edition.

Both le ce and xle of the first generation sienna are all shitty and the same jaree.
Only better thing about le or xle is roof rack leather seats and alloy

if you are been offered to choose btw 2005 sienna XLE and 2008 Sienna CE....which would you choose

I would pick the 3.3L engine in the 2005 than the 3.5L engine in the 2008. Both are reliable but the 3.5L face-lifted sienna has some brain touching issues and also expensive parts.

I mostly achieve around 10 to 12.5L/100km within Lagos depending on how I drive as I am always against traffic while heading to work.

But I was caught up in abule egba traffic of 4hours one day while coming from abeokuta, I calculated my mpg and it was around 14L/100km.

So you have to calculate your distance, you don't need a vehicle to do this, you can use a map on Android device to calculate it.

Then calculate what you really need the car for, if it's for third row seats, there are a lot of third row seat vehicles that you can choose and are more economical than the sienna but with less cargo space.

I will advise you look for a Toyota picnic or a previa as has been advised by Nurey. These two vans come with 4 cylinder engines & will save you a huge cost in fuelling. They are also cheaper to acquire in addition to lower cost of running years.

I suppose you do not wish to struggle to buy a vehicle with whatever savings you have made over the years only to realise it's a serious burden in the long run.

The first generation Sienna come debuted with a 3.0l 1MZ FE V6 engine with an mpg rating of 16 city & 22mpg highway driving. In Nigeria, you will not get anywhere near this numbers owing to a number factors including poor quality fuel, road conditions and so on.

The second generation Sienna has the 3.3l 3MZ FE V6 engine with estimated mpg of 17 & 23 city/highway driving respectively. Both vans will consume fuel & have higher capacity fuel tanks.

There are also other options with 4 cylinder engines such as Sharon etc.

Do not make a hasty decision in buying, but think it through to be such you are making the right choice.
