Calm down guys; the 'each' there indicates that both the Kano state government and Dangote donated 500m naira each.
They didn't say to each victims.

Can you see the power of a farmerhuh the biggest stake holder in agricultural and agro based industry in Africahuh Yet this people have arid land not as rich as those land in the south west, east and the middle belt of Nigeria, Yet we claim this people are stag illiteratehuh This is evidence that the North will continue to rule Nigeria industrially and commercially for the next 100 years.
I doubt if a Yoruba man, Igbo or a South South man can sparingly attempt to dole out cash this way

Firstly, Why do Nigerians like to reap where they did not sow.....Stop making it look like it's their duty and responsibility to give to the poor. Charity should be encouraged, but not compulsory.

Lastly, There are people who N50k can change their lives, even if just one person, little drops form a mighty ocean.
you see were your problem is,50k can change thousands of people's lives?
I'm a realist and 50k from a thousand or ten thousand persons won't do nothing,to improve the lives of millions.
When you look at what billionaires in the first world nation's do to help the govt on a daily basis you will pity the type of country u come from.
I know it is not compulsory but are they not ashamed of the level poverty in the north, I'm praying fr such a man from my region because such a person will motivate us to contribute........

I actually wish to know the channel or platform at which the money will be disbursed to the beneficiaries. In Nigeria, scenario like this is what some individuals or groups will cultivate on to rip others off the benevolence. What I am trying to say is that, few individuals in charge of the disbursement can loot more than half the total sum for their selfish interest thereby depriving others.

Dangote donated 500m
Kano State Government donated 500m

That's what they meant by saying they donate 500m each and not that they donated 500m each to the individuals who was affected by the disaster. .

Common lalasticlala edit that title. All those are copy and paste reporters from 1 source.

It is not 500Ml Naira each but the entire money Dangote donate is 500Ml. It is something I watch on TV.

Banks and other well meaning Nigerians also donate.

*Modified*

I misread the title before. Dangote donate 500M and State Government 500M. That is what the each means.
No need to edit! Very clearly stated

Check the topic very well which says Kano Government, Dangote donates 500m each to the fire victims, this simply means that it was both parties that donated to the whole people that was affected by the fire and not that they gave each of the victims 500m each.

It starts from the "little" you have now.

Most cooperations and wealthy individual donates to charity because it is TAX deductable...that is the same amount with extra percentage will be waived for them, the truth is such collosal amount is never actually given out by these individuals or cooperations, the give something far smaller, and large percentage of tax is waived for them.
They are modern crooks they steal with pen.

Wow.

I am blown. The coming together of Northerners when tragedy strike is one of their unifying strengths.

Imagine. Nobody is tearing each other down here,or even trying to score a cheap political point by blaming the other person.

Just imagine if that market was in Owerri. Some illiterates, would have instead of coming together to help their brothers like Dangote did, would start blaming Governor Okorocha as the cause.

And it will start from Nairaland.

Or God forbid an electrical fault or human error caused something like this in Alaba. Same illiterates with their myopic views about life, would have blamed the "Jealous Everybody" as the cause of it.

Nice one there Dangote.
Just shut up already

It's well. Pls don't set up your shop on fire yet as the money that might reach each trader may be in thousands. The 500m us not for each trader but 500m donated by Dangote and 500m by the governor
