NBC called me some minutes ago but I missed the call. I tried to call back but the operator said it is a switch board number, he doesn't know who called me and I should hope they call back.

Any idea as regards what I should do?

Why not tell him to patch you through to Hr, he may or may not do that but I don't think you have any other option.

If he does patch it through, tell whoever picks you missed a call from them and you thought it might have come from the Hr

That's what I would have done if in your shoes.
