I AM GOING TO ADVICE ANY JAMBITE ON THIS THREAD TO PLEASE! PLEASE!! AND. PLEASE!!!!,FORGET SCHOOL FOR NOW AND MAKE MONEY,THE UNIVERSITIES ARE NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR WELLBEING,ALL THEY NEED IS YOUR MONEY AND SCHOOL FEES......

YOU ARE IN THIS WORLD TO MAKE MONEY AND KNOW GOD,ANYTHING OUTSIDE THIS IS BULLCRAP,

IT HAS BEEN PROVEN THAT UNIVERSITY DOESNT guaranty SUCCESS.

I KNOW 80% OF PEOPLE THAT went TO SCHOOL BUT THEY DIDNT EVEN PRACTICE WHAT THEY LEARNT...

BUSINESS IS RULING THE WORLD.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX,INVEST YOUR YOITHFUL AGE IN SOMETHING meaningful AND YOU WILL BE BETTER THAN 80% OF UNIVERSITY graduates.

Op,it is testament to the current state of the country. It shows just how much we now celebrate and reward mediocrity. My greatest fear though,we just might wake some day to see the cut-off mark hovering somewhere around 10 marks or there about like a helicopter with a faulty engine. I mean come to think of it: from 180 down to 120? What a massive plunge that is. NOTHING can explain this away at all.

Left to me the Nigerians born between 1940 and 1980 failed Nigeria big time. They are the reason we are in this mess today and yet they still have the effortery to blame the youths. The older generation ruined Nigeria. Every Nigerian above 35 is responsible for the failure that Nigeria is today

After pegging cutoff mark at 120-100, please what is the need of JAMB? People have worked hard to pass the useless exam, and some mofos who are just lucky to have above 99 will be happy.Isokay I will not cry, I swear I will not cry.

Older generations who scored 300 and above in Jamb haven't done anything to help our economy, neither have they helped Nigeria to achieve anything tangible. This shows that our educational system has been nothing but Shambles from day one. So all of you should calm down, the only thing we know in this country is how to speak big grammar and sing about our qualifications.

You all are a disgrace to us. Youths like myself are ashamed of all of you old men. We would have to fix the mess you all put us in..

Who and who are the old men?

So an individual should support mediocrity and indolence because of being a youth, not helping the economy grow?

120 is abysmal, whichever way you see it.

I agree with the OP.

Its the schools that will benefit. They will sell more forms knowing fully well that majority wont get in. With their formular for total points that considers Jamb score, Waec and the post UME exam, its almost impossible for someone with 200 how much more 120.

They even go as far as selling change of course forms when they know they wont consider anyone that buys it.

I differ with you on this one. four in five Nigerian secondary students are below average. that's the bitter truth. students don't read for exams like we did in those days.
even those who attended tutorials are more or less on a fashion display.
even when the standard of questions are reduced, they still performed poorly.
compare the 90's jamb questions to that of the millenials.
back in those days, writing jamb was like climbing mountain Everest. but now, even the dumbest of all student can boast of 250 score.

the standard and the student performance has actually reduced and so the consequential drop in cut off mark.

conversely, what the OP suggested is a bit too coincidence.

Any right thinking person should know that the bench mark for admission this year was lowered in a bid to swindle money from students with ridiculously low scores
