That part is done few months to the wedding, the friends of the bride or her sisters help her prepare the ( place ) some bride even go as far as traveling to a different state sometimes maiduguri or kano where they have experts in prepararing the almighty place.

The items include fabrics, cosmetic products, perfumes, underwears, scarves, shoes and money. When these items are accepted and the negotiation for bride price begins, Gaisuwais is said to have taken place.



4. Rubu Dinar

The bride price is most times set to be low so that the blessings that will be gotten from the union may be more. The minimum payment is referred to as Rubu Dinar; this is a quarter kilogram of gold piece. The groom’s family can however pay more if they are financially buoyant.

5. Sadaki and Sarana

The term Sadaki means dowry, the moment it is paid, the bride belongs to the groom. After this, the wedding date is agreed upon by both families. Setting of the wedding date is called Sarana.

In most cases, the groom’s family makes provision for the house which the couple would live in. However, it is the responsibility of the bride’s family to furnish the house. Special attention is paid to the bride’s kitchen, living room and bedroom.




6. Fatihah, Kunshi and Walimah

The wedding day is called Fatihah; the families of the couple would be present while the bride herself would be made to go through Kunshi. During the wedding Fatihah which comes under the Daurin Aure, vows are being made with prayers made for the couple.

OP you tried but some parts of your submission are misleading.
There are areas I won't delve into but the following points must be noted:
1. Nagani ina SO instead of "Nagani ina.." which means 'I saw (the girl) and I am interested' not 'what I see' as you said.

3. Gaisuwa not Gaisuwais

5. Since Hausa weddings are essentially guided by Islam, payment of dowry alone NEVER makes a girl to belong to anyone. Dowry , Seegha (the verbal exchange of agreement between the groom or his representative and the bride's waliy or guardian), in presence of Witnesses (the invitees) must all be combined . This is what is erroneously called FATIHA as in your No. 6.

Kudos OP you try putting this together as a non-Hausa person.
Though there are some corrections like "Na gani ina so" which literally translates to "I saw and I like (the bride to be)"
Rub'u Dinar is also a teem to describe minimum "sadaki" which is the dowry and it's mostly given during exchange of vows on the wedding day.
And so on... I wish you sought contribution from Hausawa before you conclude.
