ProWalker:Not only are we responsible for the importation of necessary mechanisms of indigenous production without which Nigeria will be far worse. We also form the bulk of Nigeria's indigenous industrial production- which you call igbo made. Now I am not talking about fly-by-night foreign investors that come, milk the system and leave at the drop of a hat. And that is besides our impact in Nigeria's only sustainable and progressive indigenous industry- Nollywood - that employs probably thousands and provides forex, with igbo control of the entire value chain of production. |

Stop denying the truth. Have you lived in any African country outside Nigeria?you can better still ask Gej why he got interested in nollywood. You hear word like Igwe, Chineke being used on the street by non Nigerians then you will understand that Nollywood and Igbos have taken Nigeria far.even in the UK .i even shocked cos I didn't even know young people watch Nollywood. Am talking about non Nigerians. The fact is that the Igbos lay the foundation and other want to take over when all the work is done. That's the truth and fact of the matter. CrtlAltDel: |

ProWalker:lol. That is what happens when you cannot object. I was expecting you to prove if i what i said was a lie. I am sure typing anti-igbo rhetoric has never been a problem for you. There is nothing more illiterate than claiming ''yoruba sophistication'' or '' yorubas developed lagos ''when we can see the rest of yorubaland in all their glorious splendor of ancient backwardness. |

julietm123:Don't mind these clowns. The average african thinks ''igwe'' is the name for all Nigerian kings. The igbo culture is what they assume as the default Nigerian culture thanks to nollywood. Or maybe these afonjas think yoruba fetish movies is what we mean by nollywood. ![]() |

julietm123:Let me spoil the rest of your weekened ![]() MNet launched two spin-off channels borne out of the success of Africa Magic established six years ago. These are AfricaMagic Yoruba and Africa Magic Hausa. The biggest advantage of these channels even above AfricaMagic is their presence on all DStv bouquets. While the launch of the channels has indeed been received with what M-Net‘s sources call unprecedented enthusiasm and excitement among viewers across Nigeria, the smart business made some Igbo apologists cried foul against it especially in the beginning. Their argument was that unleashing Yoruba and Hausa films on the international channels without doing same for Igbo films amounted to a strategic disservice to the third largest tribe in the country.[b]see this uppercut ![]() A film should be about 99 per cent Yoruba, Hausa, or Igbo language in order to be considered a local language film. The survey‘s breakdown indicates that the figure is made up of Yoruba, 31 per cent; Hausa, 24 per cent; Igbo 1 per centAnother sucker punch.…. This one really got me laughing hard While hoping that Igbo filmmakers will soon produce enough content to warrant the creation of an Igbo channel on DSTVSource: https://www.nigeriafilms.com/celebrity-gossips/98-radio-n-tv/6682-yoruba-hausa-movie-channels-thrive-on-dstv So who is living in denial again…. Oga080666419419:Let's not go there please. What I mean is that all tribes should face their business while nation building continues. Enough of the wailing as it has obviously failed to achieve its aim: Getting more relevance for igbos in Nigeria. If armed struggle is impossible, then it is better for the igbos to keep quiet and face their trading in Nigeria. A new method of politicking has to be adopted by igbo as they have shown their inability to get their due in Nigeria. |

Alcatraz005:Inconsequential? How come Buhari chose an Igbo and not a Yoruba, Efik, Ibibio, Igala, Urhobo or Ijaw to discuss and seal the 'unity' and 'indissolulibity' of the Nigerian nation? If the Igbo are inconsequential as you claim, why not grant Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB the referendum they seek? Why do you hold on to something as inconsequential as the Igbo? |
| Re: b by Nonaira1: 3:02pm On Aug 26, 2017 |
CrtlAltDel:Why are Afonja so naturally dumb that even when they display stupidity they actually truly believe they are out doing who they are arguing with. You do realize you are making yourself look dumber by the second correct? Nollywood was made what it is by igbo. This is a well known, undiluted FACT. There was no igbo movies you rat until recently. Hell fEwu years ago there was a festival where they urged igbo producers to start making movies in igbo language. Igbo producers stopped producing igbo speaking movies after osofia, living in bondage, etc went viral in the 90s. Since they went past igbo audience, igbo producers/directors started doing all their movies in English. Igbo dominated the English department of Nollywood and that's a well known fact. Pick up ANY Nollywood movies from the 90s, early 20s and recently...fast forward to the end credit and read the of both the authors as well as the film crew. Only an idiot would think yoruba and Hausa played any role in Nollywood expansion. You jumped on their bandwagon that's wtf you did. Yoruba movie industry is very much LOCAL. Heck majority of the yoruba authors and actresses posted on this forum, most people that aren't yoruba are clueless on who they are. It is equally been reported on the yoruba authors and actress make extremely little due to the lack of exposure of that movie industry hence some of then have been caught with criminal activities to survive while some are trying to break into the english movie scene as the Yoruba authors and actresses making money are in that industry. Likewise the same for Hausa industry. The only difference is Hausa were bold enough to separate themselves from Nollywood and called themselves Kannywood. Thus, we see exactly what kannywood relevance in terms of Nollywood. Afonja on the other hand too pathetic and pitiful to separate themselves from Nollywood in order to stay relevant. That's just how pathetic you lots are. Even igbo producers that have now stated igbo speaking movies separated igbo speaking movies from the english speaking by calling it igbowood despite the english industry was/is their baby. Afonja are the only three toof pathetic to stand by themselves. Always want to use others relevance to stay relevant. Pathetic!! |

Alcatraz005:Inconsequential yet your people have cried about Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB than anyone else. Inconsequential yet your people stay talking about that inconsequential people on daily basis while those Inconsequential people seem not to give too f2ks about you. Inconsequential yet they fighting to divide away from you yet your government has been begging those inconsequential people for unity. Inconsequential yet their fight for separation from Niggeria have put the talk of restructure up in the role despite years,of your people shouting it and not one single person even dared cared. I rather be that inconsequential people that has every dick, Tom and Harry running hay way trying to find ways to douse the talk of division each time I spoke than be your "consequential" people that the north use, insult, mock, treat like a piece of shit and their Goddamn people keep quiet. Please remind us again the reaction of Osibanjo mistreatment, yolicom and adeyinka threat, was anyone be in South or north even showed any concern or cared. When SS militants shout, the entire country jumps up and down, the government running to find ways to "ease the tension". International community are on it, speaking about it and even monitoring it. When Igbo ipob/NK shouts, the entire country goes frenzy, the government running to find ways to "ease the tension". International community are on it, speaking about it and even monitoring it. When Afonja shouts, your people talk about it. We learn about it through your people. It ends there. No one pays attention to it. No frenzy, no care, not one single attention is govern to it by your governmemt, other non yoruba people and the international community. So much for your consequential status. |
