It's most likely an allergy! Stop all medication for now. Give him just piriton or loratin to help with the itching. Monitor what he what he eats closely. The common food triggers include eggs, milk, okra and seafood. Let him stay off it for now and wheat based cereals too!

Good luck and hope this helps

Stop the wheat cereals and go with rice cereals for now. Some children may react to wheat. How old is your baby?

The meds come in syrup for children! It shouldn't cost too much, I'm not immediately sure the exact prices!

As per the meals you know we haven't fully ascertained thats the trigger we are still trying to isolate the exact cause(s)... Depending on his age it may be now to switch or encourage him to eat more adult foods! Or at worst let him have plain ogi, custard with sugar or plain rice cereal! Till we are sure what's going on anyway!

There's no Semo in liquid form, you just make it watery (kinda like pap) for babies. People do wheatmeal too. As much as it hurts me to say this please don't give Semo before 7 months, wheat is allergenic and digestive systems take a while to develop and accept it. Some babies don't react and some do [s]actually Semo is unnecessary, there are more age appropriate baby foods[/s]

PS: Adults and toddlers epp me eat semo oh, help my ministry grin

PPS: nobody should quote me so I can modify a little later

Hello Abuja Folks, I need your recommendations urgently. Please can you recommend a very good preschool or nursery/primary school in Abuja that is also not so expensive. Preferred areas would be Apo/Garki/Wuse. Thank you.

For food allergies, both wheat and milk are common culprits.

Wheat has glutten in it and milk lactose both of which people can have an intolerance to.

Any new changes in food before the rashes?

If he has always been taking milk with no issues and wheat is the newest addition, try other cereals.

You can have them as Oats, corn, rice or othet grain based.

Do it one at a time, and give about a week to see if any reactions.

If baby is also over 6 months you can try other foods and fruits as well. I would say avoid any wheat based foods for now including bread and others like pies and cake, basically anything made with standard flour!

If your baby has been breastfed and the rash started since inteoducing formular, milk could be the culprit.
You may want to stop the milk, and see if there is any improvement.

This would mean back to only breastmilk, switching to a lactose free formular ( if you are in a country that offers you these options) or moving on to vegetable based milks such as almond, rice, coconut or soy and supplementing with multivitamins

Hello mamas, please does breastmilk leave a lasting stain on clothes? My baby's clothes have this brown stains that have refused to go, even with hypo and jik.
Now i suspect that the water mixes with the milk and leaves a stain, cuz the water in my area is not good. But i try to make sure i fill the bucket with water and soap before putting the clothes in so i can pour it out if the water is not clean.
And the funny thing is i dont see this stain while washing, it only comes out when the clothes have dried.
Please is there anything i can use to remove these very tough stains??
