I know we are all try to put a positive spin on this but the point is no self respecting club especially on the last days of a transfer window goes bidding on players who dont want to join you. That is rank ineptitude on the part of our decision makers. Well i guess we go forward with ZappaCosta and Kenedy as our WB back ups and that is it. I know Conte will not be happy and i dont think anyone will be surprised if by next summer at the latest he walks. I am certain this is not what he had in mind for this summer and i am not talking about getting superstars like Sandro or even Lukaku..but when the defending BPL champs cannot secure a 32 yr old back up striker from Swansea that their manager requests and you sell his starting CM/DM with no replacement secured you have essentially sent him into the BPL gun battle armed with a pair of rusty old daggers. To expect quality results in those circumstances is frankly ridiculous and the fact that no heads on our board will roll after this debacle is on Roman's hands.

Drinkwater & Kante combination won the EPL. We got Kante, we won EPL. Getting Drinkwater to partner with Kante again in midfield is the bomb. We may as well retain the league. It's no coincidence the pair dominated midfield 2015/2016.

BTW, Drinkwater may end up benching Fabregas & Bakayoko. I can trust our midfield against tough team with Drinkwater and Kante, not Fabregas and Kante abeg. Or we use a triangle midfield with Drinkwater, Kante & Fabregas.
