You guys should be thinking with your brains na.... Occasionally, Government, in its magnanimity releases prisoners whose offences are not weighty and it is obtainable anywhere in the world.

Why do you like exposing your illiteracy huh?
I think you're the one that is supposed to think with your brain. What is the offense of those IPOB members in various detentions?? I know you're not civilized, but I need you to stop exposing your illiteracy.

They are releasing criminals to the street against October 1st.

Let me get this is prison service under state governors? Are other ethnic groups released as well, or just Hausas and Fulanis were released?

Your teachers never taught you about pardons and commuting sentences? This is a trend most haven't noticed. They have criteria and in some cases programs in place for these ex cons.

Links showing trends: Bauchi pardon 170 prisoners ,Ebonyi ,Cross River , Ondo ,Benue ,Osun etc.

But this has not being made. What are the exact criteria? In other countries, strict rules apply. But here killers are having their sentences reduced & some prisoners are let loose altogether probably with nobody having an idea where they are going to live next, let alone monitor them.

Who recommended them for release based on assessment of good behavior? Pardons by politicians follow strict criteria. Even when President Clinton pardoned some prisoners just before leaving office, it was still very controversial. Obama made just over 200 pardons in 8 years. Most others were just commuted. Even in a place records are kept properly and released prisoners can be monitored. Most State governors in America rarely grant pardons. 100 per years is seen as very high.

Well, before the death of Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, similar visit was paid by the then Governor and he granted same pardon to some inmates.

An elderly man among the pardoned was interviewed and he wept profusely, revealing that he spent about fifty years inside that prison and he committed no offence.

He added that, the Emir was the one who arrested him when he was a member of Native Authority (Local Police) during a random arrest and since then he was not charged to court....

You know our system is not as clean as the America's. There are so many innocents who habe spent donkey years in prisons just because of the rot in our system..... Just pay a visit to one of the prisons and see for yourself.

I heard of that guy who they said the Amir remanded in prison but after much research I found out it was a big fat lie.

Although, the Amir as leader of the Muslims has some sway with the Sharia courts in Kano emirate it is highly unlikely that this story was true because there have been several prison decongestion panels since the man's purported remand that would have freed him if he was remanded but not convicted.

Only someone convicted for serious offences like murder or armed robbery can spend that long in detention.

D funniest part of this is that no south east governor will follow suit or do d same thing, they enjoy their brother rot in jail,no matter the crime an hausa or fulani man commits, once it's nt to his fellow brother,or Muslim brother, hmmmmmmm, its nt seen as a big deal nd he got d backing of their people, politicians.am nt saying he did anytin wrong, but for 350?haba,d prisonn yard don empty be dat. Thou it's good but thatz if it's done for the right reasons nd also if it doesn't backfire.

Thank God you are aware of prisons decongestion.... This is exactly what played out.... The prisons have a list of inmates recommended to be freed and when this opportunity comes, they get their freedom.

It is very weird to see people shouting that the Governor released Boko Haram suspects....

BH suspects are high profile suapects that even the State Governments have no access to.... And besides, they are not usually kept at medium security prisons....

From this our conversation, I can sense that you are enlightened but you allow ethnic/religious sentiment to blur your sight.

I think you're the numskull that should go back to kindergarten and start from there because you're too dumb to notice the kind of double standard that is going on in this contraption. How can the governors release them when they afraid of being tagged pro Biafra by federal government. But, the same government will never tag kano state governor pro boko haram.

So it's their fear that stops them? Dude thats a pansy excuses for cowards. Pardons are always controversial. If they are in their last term they can do it few days before they leave office. The fact is the have power and they choose not to exercise that's your problem.

SE politicians simply don't care about IPOB when they are handing out pardons and comuting sentence. There's many examples of governors handing out these pardons on smaller scale.

Examples from SE: Ebonyi , Imo , Abia , Enugu , Abambra

You're the one trying to prove a fact not me, so bring your proofs to back your allegation. Or do you just feel like throwing the allegation to make yourself happy?

Let me tell you for the last time, BH suspects are kept at maximum security prisons not the medium ones.

Buhari is the person that ordered for IPOB killings and incarceration so, I don't see our governors doing otherwise to avoid being tagged pro biafrans. But I don't see criminals from awusa fulani stock being treated with hand. Kabiru sokoto comes to mind.
