Mathematically, No. Zambia is on 4 points , if they win their remaining 3, that's 13. But if we win and Algeria win, we will visit Putin next year!
there is no way naija can lose 3 matches in a row

Victor Moses has been our standout player. His energy and creativity has been a delight to watch throughout today.

We really need a set piece specialist in our team. At least one. embarassed

U are right. We need skilled shooters too. With all those free kicks we just needed one dropshot or curl ball. Moses keeps shooting over the bar.

Should Zambia win tomorrow, they'll be on 7pts. If we draw them we will be on 11pts while they on 8pts.

If we lose our last game and they win with high goal margin, we're out.

Therefore, #OperationFinishZambia
Not so. If they are lucky to beat Algeria, they would be on 7 points while we remain on 10. A draw against Zambia at home would suffice. The head to head rule will decide regardless of the outcomes of our last matches and scoreline.

You're right. For some reasons, I thought we're on 11 points already. Anyway, if Zambia fails to win tomorrow then we'd just need to win or draw against Zambia to qualify. I like our chances grin

thats not true... .what if algeria goes on to win the remaining two matches, they will be on 10 points the same as nigeriA assuming nigeria loses their remaining two matches .. ...the group is still open.. .zambia/algeria can still qualify

Even if it's gd, 10 points can't assure us of the ticket. what if zambia score a bucket load of goals? Nigeria will never be listed as qualified if Algeria beats Zambia so just rest the case
baba zambia scoring bucket load of goals against Nigeria in nigeria??

Good game today, but I'd say the inexperienced Goalkeeper cost us. he didn't need to make that challenge, his defenders were very much in attendance and the Cameroonian player was never gonna score from that angle. That said, the players did a great job. And the ref today was good.

Instead of removing ONAZI, i think the coach should have remove simon for etebo and add another player to the midfield bcs we were being dominated and we were not doing anything in d attack again. But in all, the boys tried. Kudos to them.

There is a lot of misinformation here. Let me clear the air. Currently Nigeria maximum possible points total is 16 (twas 18 before the game - we dropped 2 points so 18 - 2 = 16). Zambia's maximum possible is 13. Nigeria currently has 10 so mathematically Nigeria needs 14 (one win one draw) points to qualify. Now, if Zambia loses tomorrow there maximum possible goes down to 10, which then means Nigeria needs just one more point (a draw) to qualify. So anyone who tells you today that Nigeria needs just one more point is assuming that Zambia will lose to Algeria tomorrow. Algeria's maximum possible is currently 10; Cameroon's is 9 (so Cameroon is out). So only Nigeria, Zambia and Algeria are in contention.

Thanks for explaining it clearly

Nigeria will be on 12 should we win.

Zambia are on 4pnts and if they go on to win all remaining games and we lose all of ours

Zambia 13pts
Nigeria 12pts
Zambia can not win all their remaining matches without nigeria wining or drawing.one of her own remaining ones too

That is why I said it's a long shot. It's not likely to happen, 99.9999% chance of not happening but as long as it's not 100%, it can happen

Lessons from Cameroon v Nigeria game
1. We greatly need Mikel in our midfield. He is the life wire of our midfield & team
2. Victor Moses is brilliant and skillful. We also need him
3. Vincent Enyeama MUST return. We can't gamble our goalkeeping department anymore. Inexperience made us lose 2 points tonight
4. Elderson Echiejile has no more business in the Super Eagles. He was just a spectator.
5. The Oyibo wall is the best we have for now.
