THE Presidency on Friday said that presently, Nigeria does not need restructuring which is been clamored for across the country, instead, what is needed is economic development to provide food for the populace.

The Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) Garba Shehu to President Muhammadu Buhari, disclosed this while receiving some Northern Clerics who staged a rally to support the President and the Nigerian Military on the fight against insurgents.

The President Aide said on daily basis, they receive communique and resolutions from groups, calling for restructuring and constitution review, he added that currently, Nigeria needs peace for its citizens to go about their businesses, and not restructuring.

Shehu also said that Nigeria is also in need of economic revamp to put food on the tables of the citizens and not restructuring or constitution review.

Accort o him “Everyday we read one communique or resolution from one group or the other asking government to review the constitution, restructure. First of all, we need peace in Nigeria, without peace there will not be Development or progress, ordinary Nigerians want peace so that they can go about their lawful activities.

“Ordinary Nigerians want food to eat, it is not constitutional review and restructuring that will put food on the table, it is better economy and this is what the president is doing, trying to ensure that the resources in the country are very well managed.

“A situation where a few people in the past have been taking everything and pocketed our resources and they shared among themselves, that period is over now, the President will make sure that whatever is available to the people of this country, goes around the country and is evenly distributed.”

The current system is not bringing any peace and development, yet he is talking down on anything to change the system.

So apparent he doesn't understand the concept of restructuring and how it can help in the restoration of peace, leading to the development of the nation.

Well, since he had opened his mouth to tell the whole nation that Nigeria was experiencing "musocracy" (government by mouse) when Buhari was away, as a reason for Buhari's working from home after being back from London treatment. One would realize that his extent of ignorance knows no boundary.

Anyway, I am waiting for the outcome of El-Rufai committee on the position of APC on the same issue.
I won't be too forward to respond to Mallam Garba now.

Before elections: Nigeria must be restructured.

After election: We do not believe in restructuring.

When citizens protested: We have set up a 5 man committee of governors to define "restructure".

Now: We do not need restructuring now.

When they lose election come 2019: Restructuring is the only way to get nigeria out of the woods!

Talk about disjointed thought process for a government that does not seem to know what it wants.

This is where these confused creatures in government get it wrong! We don't want food provided for us, like we are handicapped!! We want to produce the food ourselves!!!
We want to be in charge and decide what to produce, how to produce, and for whom to produce. We rather produce and give to the government. The business for the government is not to produce food for the populace. Silly things!!

This people have lost it... We should be giving the government (via tax etc) not the government giving us crumbs from effortless money....

All we need is us to control our production and security policy without interference.
