OP, what you are experiencing is something that most Christians will soon encounter. I was once like you. I believed "God" had a plan for me and all that crap. Not until I read several books and the result of tragic events in my life in 2015 and 2016, that I discovered that God is just imaginary. I discovered that the world works in a different way compared to what Christianity tell us.

If you don't want bear the title atheist, it's ok. Just live your life knowing that you are ahead others in terms of being able to explain how things really work. You don't have to shout "God doesn't exist", you just have to remind yourself that God is imaginary and you are TOTALLY in charge of your destiny. I recommend the following books:

1. Outliners by Malcolm Gladwell
2. Were Ideas Come From by Steven Johnson
3. Mindset by Dr Carol Dwerck
4. How win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnagey
5.Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari
