According to Kanu's lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the military had on Sunday, September 10, shot sporadically into the air through which about five of Kanu's family members were brutally wounded and some unfortunately killed. He said: "There is no doubt that the present deployment of troops to the South East is to haunt for my client and possibly eliminate him. Let the whole world know that if anything untoward happen to my client, that president Buhari and his Chief of Army Staff should be held responsible by the international Community." As at the the time of filing this report the number of casualties from the incident is still counting. "The world should be immediately notified about the tension in Biafra land, created by the Government in power. We must adopt all know legal mechanism to resist the unconstitutional but violent approach in dealing with unarmed people merely operating within the confines of law. Buhari must be held responsible. We are ready to present our case once more before the international court of Justice. The families that lost their beloved ones in the last year may 29th violent attack by the military are yet to recover from the shock of losing their love ones. This situation must be arrested in time," Ejiofor said. The Igbo National Council (INC) gave the Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, a 21-day ultimatum to end the Operation Python Dance II in the south-east. The group said the south-east region is not a war zone and asked the army chief to withdraw all the soldiers posted to the area within 21 days or be sued at the International Criminal Court (ICC). ...a good development !* I have nothing bad against IGBOS but IPOBs. Yes! If true,it is only necessary that it's the Nig.Army that should carry out his arrest because he has shown the world that he is going to resist arrest in every way possible by setting up so-called Biafra security...and the fact that family members were wounded shows that he tried to resist ... That Lawyer should equally be arrested as well for saying the land is a Biafra land without any legal document endorsing that. The ultimatum set by the Igbo National Council does not hold water due to the fact that SE is prone to violence which could lead to Quasi-civil war anytym and has become a matter of National Security ,hence the need for military presence. Nnamdi Kanu style isn't diplomatic at all. He should have pressured the regions representatives more to amending the law of the land for a referendum or whateva other diplomatic steps employed |

Before anybody comment on this thread. PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO This is an unprovoked attack on the Nigeria Military by Youths Loyal to Nnamdi Kanu. The military came in a siren convoy, and without provocation, these youths started using rocks and sticks to attack them,by throwing it at them. Even when the military drove off, they kept attacking them. I have never advocated for violence once, but the NIGERIA MILITARY has a right to defend themselves. The IPOB YOUTHS started this fight. |

divinehand2003:I don't think NPF can/should handle this kind of situation. It has to do with National Security and the call for secession and desperate and violent tendencies ,which necessitate the military to curb any excesses that may arise. The NPF mainly is charged with maintaining Law and order..within a given society while the military has to do protecting the country against any form of aggression. Moreso, the military are more discrete in carrying out operation than the police, hence the need for their professionalism |

freddywells81:Honestly speaking, I still maintain that it's the work of the NPF to make arrests. Besides, IPOD hasn't killed anyone yet. It's when the police fail outrightly, then the military can come in. |
