As a medic, I'll say the information is True to some extent because a section of the brain is constantly stimulated. However not every-one with such cognitive dysfunction suffered it because they were addicted to mast**bat**n e.g Ageing could cause such impairments (e.g Alzheimer's dx). For those who are already genetically prone, it could be worse.

Porn and masturbation are more like tools to get the real thing that causes the addiction, Dopamine. I think (I'm not sure) it's the continuous release and flooding of the brain with this Dopamine that can result to brain fog and cognitive impairment OP mentioned.

Please can any medical personnel help clarify some few points here?

not at all. These are people who are or have been addicts and are now encouraging themselves to be sober. They are all reporting similar symptoms like the ones I listed. It is not a philosophy community where they are encouraging a self reasoned ideology but that from their personal experiences.

lol. The key word here is addiction. Addiction to porn, masturbation or sex. It doesn't happen overnight, the effects are gradual with time.

now, the 'high' Internet porn gives you is different from that of normal sex given the novelty. Once you are hooked, the addiction mirrors that of hard drugs. Masturbation to porn is similar. Sex everyday with the same person everytime is not dangerous as online porn and masturbation to porn. For sex with the same partner to be damaging, it takes a lot.

sounds bullshit to me. I have been researching the effects of pornography, alcoholism, drugs and sex addiction on mental health. It is too surprising that is why I brought it here for nairalanders to bring their opinion.
