DrogoG:Trust me we are not ready and Nnamdi Kanu is not the leader WE need. One does not hurriedly lick steaming hot soup. IPOB, MASSOB, BZM are all selfish agendas. I am not telling you I don't support the Biafran agitation or cause, I am 100% in support, but I don't support the methods of any of these groups. You need MINDS not rogues in the upper halves of your organization. |

dasamek8:Creating new states is the opposite of returning to regionalism. Nigeria (and the south east) already has too many states. Imo, Ebonyi and Abia are struggling to survive. Devolution and resource control are needed |

realhumanity:Gbam!! You hit the nail on the head! Do you know how long it takes before UN or any other international body intervenes in a country? Even after their intervention, it can take years to reach a negotiated settlement. And how important is the SE in the scheme of UN's priorities? Have they finished attending to the protracted crises in other parts of the world, that have lingered for several years? When the Liberian crises started years ago, how long did it take for UN to respond? Wasn't it the West African countries that had to raise ECOMOG to quell the war & crises in that country? Where were UN forces, before ECOMOG went in? ![]() Even America that established Liberia, did not send an army contingent into Liberia when the crises started. It was almost 2 years after the war started, that ECOMOG went in there to impose a ceasefire. The US preferred to focus on Iraq and get Saddam Hussein out of the way, because their strategic interest in that zone was being threatened by Saddam's antics, remember? In August 1990, without any prospect for intervention by the United States or the United Nations, ECOMOG arrived in Monrovia to separate the warring factions and to stop the bloodshed.ECOMOG had already established the ceasefire before the UN eventually stepped into the country, a few years later in 2003. Don't forget that the war started between Sergeant Doe and Charles Taylor, in 1989, o! After ECOWAS brokered a peace agreement in Cotonou, Benin, in 1993, the Security Council established the United Nations Observer Mission in Liberia (UNOMIL). This was followed by the UN peacekeeping mission tagged United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), whose functions covered political, military, police, criminal justice, civil affairs, human rights, gender, child protection, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration, public information and support components, as well as an electoral component in due course. ![]() |

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee on True Federalism has tabled twelve issues for talk amid general society hearings on rebuilding planned to begin on Septemeber 18, 2017 in different parts of the nation. In addition, the advisory group said it will counsel the report of the 2005 Political Reforms Conference, the 2014 National Confab and reports of past national meetings in its task to decide the gathering’s position on rebuilding. The Secretary of the Committee, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, unfurled the 12-point motivation at a news gathering in Abuja. GenBuhari:I am not Igbo either but the way I see it, IPOB is now more than an Igbo thing. 1.Nobody needs your permission to agitate for a decent existence and failing that,to seek for an alternative arrangement. You may as well start your own group if you are unhappy with IPOB and content with the conditions in Nigeria. 2. The ex Soviet republics are all happy with their independence. What is your point? Have the Ukrainians, Georgians, Armenians, Lithuanians, Estonians and others told you they are unhappy ? 3. The major problems of the country are not with the constitution. For example Buhari, the senile, sick, bigoted president makes appointments to his kinsmen against the articles and spirit of the constitution; there is no passage in the constitution that mandates looting but the governors, ministers, senators et al do so. Is there any support in the Nigerian constitution for the Army murder of Shiites ? Constitution is a minor issue. Nnamdi Kanu is not perfect but why while we await the perfect man, let us give him kudos for his courage and action. |

obayaya:Why are you talking about Kogi and Benue? Where were you in 2015, when the army launched Operation Awase to flush out militants from the Lagos creeks who were breaking pipelines in the region? They even shelled the area with the help of the Airforce. Did residents of Ikorodu and Arepo hurl stones, bottles and missiles at the army? No. The army came in, conducted their operations and left peacefully. ![]() In March 2017, the army conducted Operation Ex Harbin Kunama II specifically in Southern Kaduna, Birnin Gwari, Kyambana Forest and some volatile areas in Plateau State, Lame Burra Forest in Bauchi and Falgore Forest in Kano State. no record of assaults or skirmishes were recorded, to the best of my knowledge. ![]() Operation Lafiya Dole also took place in the North, which entailed massive movement of personnel and military hardware across the region, but nobody confronted the army and told them not to pass a certain area. Why the one in the SE ended in a skirmish is what needs to be investigated. Your IPOB chaps unwittingly turned themselves into combatants by hurling stones, missiles bottles etc, at the army and things escalated from there. ![]() |

attackgat:The motion for referendum to decide the question of Scottish independence, was moved by Nicola Sturgeon a Scottish parliamentarian. Section 30 of the Scotland Act 1998 in the United Kingdom and Scottish parliaments, gives full legal backing to allow a single question referendum on Scottish independence, to be held before the end of 2014. The order puts beyond doubt that the Scottish parliament, can legislate for the referendum. ![]() Unlike IPOB supporters that want others who have nothing to do with their proposed republic, to dash them referendum, it was the Scottish people that put together the political machinery for it, and executed it. After they had followed due process by doing their homework and groundwork politically, the rest of Britain could now accede to it. |
