All these scammers everywhere and to get trusted folks to do escrow for you can be hard. Many people want to cover their head. I think maybe there should be a paid escrow service that's not greedy, dedicated to escrow, so that we spoil business for these scammers.

Thanks bros. I guess this should be a lesson for me to verify trader's information on nairaland before proceeding with transaction.

He contacted me that he wanted to sell 140$ worth of BTC some days ago using a screenshot of Mr. T's wallet, not knowing Mr. T had already chatted me to sell me the same bitcoin. I asked him if he was Mr. T, he answered negative. Then, I asked him why Mr. T's name was written on the screenshot of the wallet. He claimed he had a deal with Mr. T and bought the bitcoin from Mr. T, in fact he had the bitcoin in his possession already (Red flag, At this point I knew he was probably a scammer). I played along. I asked him to quote me on the thread, he claimed his moniker is new, and could only comment on the thread in a couple of days time, however he could quote me in career or some other sections. He also claimed that he usually sells to exchanger sites which pays him 320, then discovered that he could get a better deal if he sells at Nairaland. He claimed to be a follower of the crypto-currency thread, albeit as a guest.
I asked him for his Facebook details, it took him a long time before he could send it. And when he finally did, he sent me some fishy Facebook profile with the name "Prince Desmond". The profile obviously is fake with some random picture downloaded from the internet. I continued to play along and ask him for his bank details so I could get a real name. He provided me the following bank details (Deleted)/b]. I sent screenshots of my chat with the suspected scammer to Mr. T, and Mr. T seeing the phone number confirmed that the guy had earlier chatted him up to buy his (Mr. T's) BTC. However he used/claimed a different Moniker - [b]Buddyy when chatting with Mr. T, and their deal did not pull through because according to Mr. T ' the scammer could not quote Mr. T with the moniker he said he owned'. (Note: He was obviously trying to steal people's moniker and implicate them for fraud).
After Mr. T confronted the suspected scammer, The scammer came back to me (this time very aggressive and rude) claiming I reported him as an impersonator to Mr. T. He claimed that he had told me earlier he wasn't Mr. T, but he only talked with him and they couldn't agree. (Note that when he - 'the scammer' first contacted me, he claimed that the screenshot of the wallet had Mr. T's name because he got the BTC from Mr. T and that he had the BTC in his possession.
At this point, I opened up and told him he is a bloody scammer. He became patronising, defensive and aggressive, threatening to spam me if I posted about this anywhere.

I must admit this guy is a very 'patient' scammer. He answered all my questions and was very patient hoping that I would fall for his tricks.

I have removed the bank details and also, used the pseudonym Mr. T for Torrit all through the narration to avoid mentioning his moniker too many times.
