October First: Is There Still A Reson To Panic? by eodavids(m): 4:58pm On Sep 22, 2017
It was the most trending news prior to the return of president Mohammadu Buhari from London. It was upon the president's return that Arewa Youths withdrew their threat to eject Ndigbo from Northern Nigeria.

Even though the 'quit notice' was withdrawn, critical thinkers are interested in knowing if there are still reasons to panic.

IS THERE ANY THING THAT COULD RE-ACTIVATE THAT THREAT?

I need answers please.

There is no longer anything like Ipob.

If someone like Tompolo can go into hiding, never to be seen or heard of again, then who is Nnamdi Kanu

Well, but the fear is not about Nnamdi Kanu. Its about citizens of Nigeria exploding with anger against each other as suffering has been the order of the day and people now seek the avenue to vent off their anger.

October 1 threat was activated and deactivated in northern Nigeria. What I want to know is if there is possibility or any thing that can reactivate the erstwhile threat

That is inconsequential because they had not threatened to quit any non-Igbos

It is good that the North is preaching peace and unity at the moment. From all indications they want Buhari to succeed and knowing fully that with troubles everywhere there is limits to which he can achieve anything meaningful.
If Buhari is removed for any unforseen reasons and is replaced by a Southerner will they still preach peace or go on a killing spree of Igbos and Southerners in their territory. If 2019 comes and Nigerians vote against APC will they look for their successful Igbo neighbours to waste while the Northern dominated Armed forces look the other way. People like Ango Abdullahi have spoken more hate speech than I have seen of men of his age and nobody has called him out for it, the military has never danced close to his residence. Arewa youths, although, they retracted their statements to give peace a chance seem to be interested in the perpetuity of Northern rulership more than the issues that highlights our disunity. For instance, they have not asked questions about the grossly lopsided appointments by President Buhari and the dearth of Federal presence in the South East. A tripod with one of the legs longer than the other two cannot stand, in this administration one leg is miles longer and that among other things is the cause of the disunity.
If the North can still preach peace given such circumstances that they want others to endure without voicing out, then we have a united Nigeria.
