Oga leave the long talk. You are not the one going to live there. Switzerland amongst a dozen or so countries are land locked. Land doesn't make a country, people do and the struggle for the soul of Nigeria has been an inter-people struggle. It is peoples behaviours towards others that has led to this unfortunate turn of events.

If the rest of Nigeria had said, come you guys let us talk, what do you want, we will meet you half way then the likes of Nnamdi Kanu will be handlable, but the arrogance of Nigeria is not helping. All nations constantly negotiate with their citizens on the ways to co-exist. How can a natiin which claims to have gained independence now turn around to oppress its own people. Independence means equality and justice for all. No one is superior to the other.

This Swiszerland that you reference... I bet you don't know much about its internal structure. I have been to Geneva several times and at least twice this year, so I can relate. Geneva has been a different state from the beginning, a financial hub and had to share bordeless country with france and other surrounding countries. It has been a well sustained state and very rich before standing on its own. Infact it was given out much financial support and has one of the most stable economy. What is SE position in the comittee of states in Nigeria? please check the IGR for the given states in SE...

Now let me tell you, it is not a crime to ask for independence...what I want you to know is that, you would want to make sure tjat you are in good standing, financially and economically before you do so, if not the part of country will surfer.

I will likened Biafra to a head of a family, as a part of an extended family, who'd ask for isolation without having both finamcial and ecomomic independence. His family will surfer and at the end of the day they will go back to the extended family for help and support...and what do you think will happen?

Sentiment apart the only region the can collectively ask for independence and not surfer much is SW, but even at that, the SW will pay the price too, but not to the magnitude of other regions.

So your swisszerland example is half baked bro...and in addition, things a very expensive. Most people live in France and work in Geneva due to the expensive nature of the nation....You can guess why now.

Summarry is SE would want to be financially and economically stable before secede, if not, the innocent people will surfer. Having strength is not the ultimate but ability to apply wisdom to judiciously use the strength to maximize positive impact can not be quantify.

Alagbara mònmoń ero baba ole ni...Says a Yoruba adage.

I dont think I detest anybody more than Tinubu the bloody hypocrite. So it is because Buhari castrated you politically and rendered you a local champion that you remembered restructuring again grin

It took Nnamdi Kanu to help you rediscover your voice. Cowardly charlatan. I dont trust this tinubu creature. If Fulani offer him president in 2023 you will see how he will forget this latest song

“Being more pragmatic, separating the nation into small pieces resolves nothing and creates additional problems…Such a thing would make us more vulnerable to outside influences. We would forfeit our rightful place on the world stage and as a leader of this continent.

This is the part that struck me the most as it has always stirred in my private thoughts. For those who profess to love Nigeria, I keep wondering weather they are unaware the geopolitical consequences of a divided Nigeria.

Little countries like Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon will turn to dictate the affairs domestically and internationally while Nigeria and her citizens become another small insignificant country when ever they travel abroad.

Restructuring is the way to go.

Let kanu be smitten into irrelevant bits of insignificance.

The first time I heard "restructuring" it was Tinubu that said it. He went into power and suddenly forgot about that.
When Nigeria restructured, all the agitations for cessation would die a natural death.
Re: Nigeria Must Restructure — Bola Tinubu by rkennyking(m): 11:42am On Sep 24, 2017
The subject restructuring has always being part of our entity, from inception and will always be there . A society is a dynamic entity, it can't be on a stand still never . We have been restructured times without number and we are still doing that everyday. Every new policy introduce by a tenure is doing nothing but restructuring. However we have some major issues to address, namely , political character, economy structure and others . This major issues are also not constant, we have being moving on . We will get there but we only have to break it to correct it. We can't be playing with the ember of hatred and expect a sound society to ensue . Looking at our history every region have enough reasons to be careful when it comes to decisions like this . The north don't want to be dominated by the other regions , south east also is very weary of the regions, same with Southwest and south south. I think we all need to forget this regional and ethnicity problems we need to embrace through nationalism. We need to start seeing ourselves as first humans , then Africans, then Nigerians before ethnic division come in.

What exactly is this restructuring by the way? Seems to me like the latest political fancy word.

Now because Tinubu has come out to cast his support for restructuring, you can say you don't have problem with break up but when NK says let's break it up, you and your cohorts term him a terrorist. Do you agree now that you're a terrorist for having no problem with break up?

In as much as i see nothing wrong with the current military approach, i am not against federal government negotiating with Kanu and IPOB if they are open to negotiation.

Tinubu and his party also need to do more. Restructuring was a dominant part of APC manifesto and by now, the APC government should have taken concrete steps towards restructuring the country.

This is the most credible comment I ve seen so far, ipob won't see this because of hatred
mank1234:
Name calling will give you nothing but hate or war.
What the north is doing is not different from what an average black race would do given its power and simple majority. In the eastern region of old, Ijaw felt oppressed but the Igbo majority then refused to listen. That's what led to the declaration of Niger Delta republic then. It's same situation now.

A better approach would be to diffuse the fear of the north which is mainly loss of income. Get them to feel that there's so much untapped resources there which can make them prosperous. For example, if a South Eastern state applies for land in the north, uses it for extensive commercial farming, declare stupendous profits, I'm sure their eye will open.

There are some countries which thrive only on tourism, agriculture and agro-allied-industries alone.

This matter has gone beyond Nnamdi kanu and IPOB. Ipob was a catalyst to the struggle we all had in mind but refused to speak nor act.

It's not about dialogue with Nnamdi kanu or IPOB, It's about reconfiguration of the Nigerian system for justice, equality, productivity, growth and progress which the present system doesn't support.

Truth be told, wrong or right, Nnamdi kanu and his group emboldened everyone to demand for what is right without fear as was the case.

Call them terrorists, call them names, the question begging for answer won't automatically erase from the peoples mind.

Restructure or disintegrate.

I said it long ago, that ultimately, Nnamdi Kanu's agitation, like him or hate him, is a struggle for every Nigerian's future progress.

He has already succeeded, but people still don't get it.

Thank God for Nnamdi Kanu for delivering some people from mental slavery and giving them voices. Many people are now voicing out their displeasure over the structure of Nigeria because Kanu and IPOB has emboldened them to speak out even in the face persecution and intimidating Murderous army. GOD BLESS NNAMDI KANU AND OUR IPOB FAMILIES WORLDWIDE.

So you are now ready to talk about restructuring finally. Tinubu has been silent on restructuring for a long time and even did not attend the Yoruba Summit on restructuring in Ibadan. He is only speaking now because he's losing credibility over his silence. He has benefiting from the rot in Nigeria that is why he kept quiet and did not support restructuring all the while. Tinubu is not a worthy leader in Yoruba land and must not be regarded as such. He is only after his own selfish interest to amass wealth for himself and unborn generation.
.am sure because u don't like tinubu that why u av not been following his polital career,he has always been a leading voice in true federalism or fiscal federation. When they wrote the APC manifesto is was his idea that restructuring should be included, and their was the plan to use the national assembly to achieve this, but as soon the the govt was formed he try to put the right people as the head but alas all of u came with the the notion that he was trying to corner everything, and the issue that he don't attend the Yoruba summit pls u should be wise to know that he has so many foot soldiers and he was well represented.

Restructure the hunger in SW first

There's hunger in the SW, but tens millions of your of your people live in the SW and the dream of your people left in your village is to save or gather money for the next bus heading to the SW.

So, are millions of your people in the SW hungry and why are the ones left in your villages still looking for the opportunity to join the hungry people in the SW?

Hungry people are the ones with no opportunities in life to progress in their town and villages leave the comfort of their towns and villages to seek their daily bread elsewhere, not the other way around so look in the mirror for hungry people.

It is indeed a good thing that Tinubu is now supporting restructuring.
Last time I checked he was against it. I pray soon enough Obasanjo will also see reason in rejigging the present horrible structure of Nigeria.
If these two major voices will lend their sincere and committed support to the clamour, be assured a more equitable Nigeria will be born.
Re: Nigeria Must Restructure — Bola Tinubu by deomelo: 2:53pm On Sep 24, 2017
This restructure thing is very silly, it's just another meaningless feel good slogan

You can restructure all you want, you still can not change the economic dynamics in many states in Nigeria.

Many of these state can not provide for themselves socially and economically, they just are unproductive and can not be.

Nearly all out states can not stand on their own so what's restructure going to do or how is it going to help the situation?

Today, we have many states collecting taxes and allocations with nothing to show for it, we also have many states in the SS each with less than 5 million people and and almost with the same budgets like Lagos with 20 million people, but we can see on the ground what they did or are doing with their money in Lagos, but we can not see anything on the ground in the SS even with extras like NDDC and ministry of Niger Delta..but states with less resources have more on the ground to show than states with money and resources.

As a society, we love to run and rally around catch and meaningless phrases while ignoring The real problems before us.

Our problem from day one remains poor, vision less, corrupt and incompetent leadership from federal all the way down to states and local government.

You can restructure all you want, but with the same useless, corrupt and incompetent leadership, your outcome remains the same.

What we should be restructuring is how we pick and elect our leaders and the kind of people we give our lives to.

We can not substitute worthless, corrupt and incompetent leadership with restructure.

IPOB leader is a rebel but labeled as terrorists by his voice due to the inflammatory utterances he always aired on both printing and electronics media.

He can be a leader of a group that doesn't give him the power of being the tool of chaos which is threat to peace and unity of this country, an agitator for self determination is not terrorist when is part of democratic government of his country but freedom fighter of his people.

There are many examples of same movement in various parts of the world which I found out that most of those internationally recognized are politicians who are still serving their people spearheaded the goal like Kurdish in Iraq, Quebec in Canada, Catalonia in Spain etc unlike Nnamdi Kanu in Nigeria that followed other path without the support of the Eastern politicians.

Conclusively, it would be better for him either to form his own party or to join existing one with the objective of disintegrating Igbos out of Nigeria, without that he'll continue to be victim of circumstances and his mission will be illegal prior to it's easy for Ojukwu to led Igbos on self determination because he's the head of Eastern region government.
