Re: Technical Discussions On International Military Equipments Doctrines Tactics Etc by Nobody:
ARJUN MBT armor protection

it is 3 tiered

1.ERA tiles, explosive reactive armor is the first line of defence against shaped charged warheads and KE projectiles

2.NERA tiles, non energetic reactive armor or dynamic passive armor works against all kinds of warheads especially tandem warhead projectiles if it manages to defeat the ERA. during tests a single thin module of NERA knocked off more than half of penetration of a AT warhead. it comprises of tiles in which two metal plates sandwich an inert liner, such as rubber. When struck by a shaped-charge’s metal jet, some of the impact energy is dissipated into the inert liner layer, and the resulting high-pressure causes a localised bending or bulging of the plates in the area of the impact. As the plates bulge, the point of jet impact shifts with the plate-bulging, increasing the effective thickness of the armour.

3.KANCHAN base armour , it is the main armor and it is made of a number of composite panels sandwiched between rolled homogeneous armor RHA panels, in the earlier days composite panels was made of ceramic , alumina, fiber glass , nickel alloys and other materials mixed in and now new advance tech is being used. earlier the rolled homogeneous armor (RHA) plates was being made from low-carbon, nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel now these r being replaced with lighter high-nitrogen steel (HNS).

additionally now multi-layered multi-functional fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite hull/turret sub-structures at much lower weights in comparison with metallic counterparts have been incorporated. More than 40 per cent weight savings over steel hull structures have been achieved.

also developed for the Arjun Mk2 is co-cured composites integral armour (CIA), which comprises ceramic tiles and rubber sandwiched between two FRP composites layers. While the outer FRP composite layer acts as a cover and provides confinement, the ceramic layer provides primary protection against ballistic impact, and the inner FRP composite layer acts as the structural part as well as secondary energy absorbing mechanism. The rubber layer isolates stiff and brittle ceramic tiles from structural member. this is in addition to the base Mk2 variant of Kanchan modular armour.

the earlier older generation kanchan armor has defeated Israeli FSAPDS and other russian rounds at point blank range during tests.

for every 10+ T90 kills i am damn sure ind.... will have 1 arjun kills , actually there is a internal assessment report which also claims the same considering the heavy anti tank concentration across the border .

in my opinion for ind.. scenario only arjun has adequate armor protection to take multiple hits on its armor and still continue fighting.
for info indi.. T90 has only ERA and export model base armor .

funny thing fuuckking ind.. army is asking drdo to incorporate arjun armor tech into the T90. shameless jackasses

another fun fact

Arjun tank was designed from the beginning with the sole aim of killing American M1 Abrams tanks, the ones which were meant to be supplied to the p........... but later cancelled.

lol am telling u again generals in armor corps love money grin

they got the habit of a donkey very stubborn and stupid

dont want to move out of their comfort zone plus as mentioned above money as freebies

except this present government , all other governments used arms deals to facilitate kickbacks with active participation of some generals who received some of the kickbacks and plumb foreign / domestic postings/appointments after retirement to bend the rules.

even if we know who r doing this we cannot do anything becz u cannot go against the government , government will simply retire/replace the good ones.

sir the business of protecting the interests of a country is not a easy task
more than often the bad guys r within/part of the system u r working for , if u eliminate them , it will/may bring the whole house down.

eg. say if a general in NA is corrupt , can u as part of DSS do anything , if u haul him up the army reputation as a institution comes into question , further such individuals r connected to the powerful/influential both within the institution and outside eg. judiciary , intelligence , political parties , media etc , will u be able to drag/fight the whole system, no becz the original case will get lost in the cascading plethora of connected/related wrongdoings at other/same places .

ur investigation will lose steam or get muddled up and worse the security/institution flaws at military/government level will be open to public hence to the enemy.

so i hope u understand my point that nothing is so simple in the matters of a country and its institution, basically it is cesspit

situation is same for all countries more or less

correction india is worse fucccking mofos

present govt is good but their hands r tied as they have to manage the wrongdoings of the previous governments.
u cannot stop procuring tanks after the commitments to procure a definite no of tanks had been made previously , it would strain the foreign relationship and hamper work in other fields of cooperation.

its a necessary sacrifice

IN’s multi-spectrum National Command Control Communication and Intelligence Network (NC3IN) for maritime domain

The IMAC is the single point centre interlinking the newly formed coastal radar chain in India.

It is manned by the Navy and function under the National Security Adviser (NSA). The National Command Control Communication and Intelligence System (NC3I) will eventually become the backbone of National Maritime Domain Awareness (NDMA).

The NC3I will link 20 naval and 31 Coast Guard monitoring stations to generate a seamless real-time picture of the nearly 7,500-km long coastline. The system currently comprises 46 radars and 30 additional radars are planned to fill all the gaps in coastline security.

The hubs are linked by high speed optical fibre networks and satellite links serve as a back-up in case of emergency. Apart from coastal radars and optical sensors, it also draws information from automatic identification systems fitted on merchant ships and has a comprehensive shipping database of world registers of shipping for analysis of traffic.

While the IMAC will be the merging point of all maritime intelligence, the NDMA will integrate several agencies into one fold.

Most people are totally unaware Vietnam was fought by the US and allies under the S E Asian version of NATO,SEATO. The Phil's, Oz, New Zealand,Thailand and the greatest contributor in terms of quality of troops,S Korea. Both ROK Marines and army units deployed in 1 corps. In return,S Kor got a 1 bn $ for modernization of their forces,(mind you these were 1965 dollars!)

The S Kor Marines were known as the Blue Dragons-here is their flag. The Inf.units were the Capital div and White Horse div for a total force of 45k. Later everyone would rate them the highest of all SEATO forces-here's why:
Upon the insistence of Korean President Park Chun Hee, soldiers deploying to Vietnam would be volunteers. Both he and the military wanted to demonstrate to the Americans and the world, through the army, that South Korea had come of age and was no longer wholly dependent on the Americans for its defense. The very best of the army were plucked from their units and assigned to the Capital Division. Enlisted personnel were given special incentives to volunteer, including higher pay and credit for three years of military service. President Park personally selected senior officers.

Korean soldiers were highly motivated. Because of their own struggle with Stalinist North Korea, they hated communists. They were also tough. Each man was trained in the art of tae kwon do, with 30 minutes’ practice forming an integral part of morning physical training. They were also subjected to harsh discipline. Two soldiers who raped a Vietnamese woman were executed before their company.

Last pic shows
Lt Gen Louis W. Walt, Commanding General (CG), III MAF, speaks with Capt Jung, Commanding Officer, 11th Company, the morning following the battle, surrounded by BGen Kim Young Sang, CG, 2d ROK Marine Brigade, and other senior Marines.
The VC themselves avoided all contact with S Kor forces:
The South Korean soldier was also feared by the Vietcong. Time magazine reported in 1966, “Captured Vietcong orders now stipulate that contact with the Koreans is to be avoided at all costs—unless a Vietcong victory is 100 percent certain.”
Mainly, they conducted coy and bn level ops and in this regard were rated higher than all else.

Before conducting missions, the South Korean marines laid out their plans much more carefully than their allies, with greater fire discipline, effective use of fire support, and better coordination of sub-units. They also had to their favor the distinguished combat leadership of the company and platoon commanders
. During village searches, ROK soldiers would subject the settlement to a series of detailed sweeps while interrogating subjects on the spot. By comparison, American units tended to favor a single sweep followed by a removal of all civilians for screening. Such a painstaking approach certainly paid dividends in terms of weapons seizures and reduced VC activity in ROK areas. Koreans quickly learned pidgin Vietnamese language; for fear that most Vietnamese translators were spies for Vietcong and NVA. Koreans also had better field intelligence than their American counterparts. Koreans conducted counterinsurgency operations so well that American commanders felt that the Korean TAOR was the safest. This was further supported when Vietcong documents captured after the Tet Offensive warned their compatriots to never engage Koreans until full victory was certain. In fact, it was often that the NVA and Vietcong were ambushed by Koreans and not vice versa.

The Battle of Tra Binh Dong is one of the most acclaimed battles fought by Korean forces during the Vietnam War. From Feb. 14-15, 1967, Republic of Korea Marine Corps (ROKMC) Marines of the 11th Company, 3d Battalion, 2d Marine Brigade—the “Blue Dragons”—defeated a regimental-sized attack force in four hours of close combat.

Tra Binh Dong is studied in Korean staff colleges and taught in boot camp. Artifacts from the battle are displayed at the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul.
https://www.mca-marines.org/leatherneck/2017/02/anglico-marines-tra-binh-dong

At 0410, the sound of mortars and recoilless rifles woke the Marines as more than 2,400 North Vietnamese soldiers attacked the 11th Co. One battalion advanced on the 1st platoon’s position while two others attacked the 3d platoon. Long again shouldered the radio as he and Jim ran to the bunker that served as an alternative CP, shooting three enemy soldiers who approached the wire. After none of the Korean officers showed up, Long and Porta left for the main CP. Seconds later, a rocket destroyed the bunker.

After locating Capt Jung, Long contacted an AC-47 Spooky gunship flying in the vicinity. The gunship dropped illumination flares, banked left and unleashed its Gatling gun on the enemy in the tree line. Unfamiliar with the gunship and concerned the flares allowed the enemy to see his Marines, the captain told Dave to order the plane away. As he continued to circle, the pilot described the combat below as “the biggest fight [he had] ever seen.”

First Lieutenant Kim Se Chang began to coordinate artillery support from the brigade’s 105 mm and 155 mm batteries. The forward observer directed fires close to the company’s perimeter in an attempt to stop the waves of attackers. Porta and Long accompanied Capt Jung as he assessed the situation, providing updates to other ANGLICO Marines. Jim Porta recalled that, during the attack, “[t]he noise was deafening. I lost my hearing for periods of five to 10 minutes on several occasions. The NVA fired mortars and machine guns from a very close range. It was obvious they knew the location of the command post, mortar pits and other key areas. They destroyed the bunker with a rocket. I remember dirt running down my back when a mortar landed nearby. The enemy fired so many tracer rounds that I was surprised nothing caught [/b]f

read it , definitely interesting

frankly speaking was not aware of the involvement of koreans to this extent

base defence can be done with numerically lesser no of manpower provided the defences, fire zones r well prepared and thought out . advantage will generally lie with the defenders especially if they have artillery support and r well supplied .

during 1962 war in one incident 300 men defended against 10000 attackers successfully untill their ammo gave out . after that all KIA.

flamethrowers r redundant in this age but not the application what i mean is better means of delivery and tech is now available
eg. thermite grenades , incindery grenades/rounds , thermobaric rocket launchers etc which r far safer to use and more effective

i remember some jihadis had killed 7 civilians of the same family

IA did not kill the responsible jihadis by bullets but every ahole was specifically targeted by thermobaric rockets

then the burnt out bodies were put on display for view across the border as a warning

being killed this way by fire is haram to jihadis becz according to these fuucckers it leaves them ineligible for 72 virgins grin

Kenyan army uses thermobaric weapons against the jihadis ?

For a long time the KDF used the Carl Gustav and still do which doesn't have such a round. They're changing over to the RPG 7 and I've heard the specops use the RPG 7 thermobaric round but can't confirm.
