That's wat Igbos call it.. She said it's preventing her from adding weight and makes her eat too often. It also makes her cry frequently and sleep less. A spot close to her forehead is pressed down too. She said we will take her to these native people for them to treat it.

Have you gone for postpartum check up with your doctors.. if not try and check in...
Take it easy on your self... try and avoid strenuous activities, house chores, lifting objects and walking too fast..

coconuts oil + shear butter is good and natural

How old is ur baby Biko? I'll suggest you wait it out oh. The spot on her forehead might not mean anything. My baby's own is a bit close to her front hairline though, I don't know about taking a baby to any native house oh. Then again it's MIL, what can you do. As for the eating too often and not adding weight, I think it Depends on what she's eating. Are you EBF-ing or she's also taking milk? If EBF-ing, are you eating enough for a good milk supply? So she fit suck belefull at once instead of eating too often like you say. If a baby is not well fed, sleeping well will be difficult. Speaking from experience

You say Wetin?
Native who?
That soft spot is normal!
Not every baby is meant to be chubby!
New born babies don't sleep much at night! And some don't really sleep much during the day either.
Crying is normal for a baby
Abeg let the pikin eat as much as she wants
That soft spot is called fontanelle. Biko google it

If you're worried about her eating too often, try to express and bottle feed so you see how much milk you're producing.

A sunken fontanelle (the spot close to her forehead) could be a sign of malnutrition or dehydration. Please feed her as often as she would like to be fed, she might just be a foodie. If you can't keep up with the breastmilk then use formula. If you think she's not ok please take her to a hospital, no native doctor things

Like at giddyperson has said, a depressed fontanelle is a sign of dehydration. Are you feeding her well? Ensure she empties one breast before going to the other so that she will get hindmilk. If no improvement, take her to the hospital. I'd rather give my baby formula and water instead of going the native way.

please change that diaper asap...l learnt on this thread that Nigeria Huggies which is d red one I presume gives rashes...The UK Huggies is better but its on the high side..U can try pampers premium, asda little angles, fibronsi(benignasweety pls give me the right spelling)

for the rash, u can use sudocream but try and mix it with a little coconut oil so it won't react to your baby's skin...U should try as much as possible to air her bum..you can just spread a nylon/water proof beneath her bum where she's lying down..

coconut oil is good.
lol @fibronsi... Its Finrosy...

sabi mamas have said it. if u notice that the spot is enlarging, as in becoming bigger and forming a straight line to the back instead of closing, thats when there is cause for alarm. if not, LO is perfectly OK. continued feeding. love to Lo.

Current location: On the floor of the visitors toilet

Current Situation: I can't poo cry

What did you eat this time: One whole tin of minime chinchin family size

Why did you eat it: I was bored at work and there was no other snack.

Did you drink water after eating it: Yes I did, a lot

So why can't you still poo: My village people are after me

What do you want the rest of the world to do about it: Please pray for me. I'm having contractions and my waist is on fire like I'm in labour cheesy
