It is normal, what's the fuss. Recruiting firms have also adopted SM mechanism to track applicants. Who knows if they are accounts related to Boko Haram activities.
You must be really ignorant to say such.Dont you know we deserve our privacy?.

When we tell them to move to telegram because they don't give up user data to government agencies, they say it's not popular.Well they would keep invading your privacy.

I never thought Nigeria would be among but it seems they have joined the "surveillance crew".It isn't normal to spy on your citizens.

Very true

Except for the fact that your phone and system logs cookies, Google automatically sees your location even if you don't turn GPS on, they always write (based on your search experience

Ever wondered how Facebook knows which ads they'll play for you when you watch video? What about YouTube? You need a Gmail account to comment on YouTube

Every Android phone requires Gmail account to access playstore games and updates, Google logs your browsing history, cookies and searches

You upload pictures and tag it with friends at a location, by so doing Google can triangulate your location or find your location using mutual friends

Don't lie to yourself, if government wants your data, it's available everywhere, even people who send you sms adverts buy your details, hundreds of thousands of details with tens of thousands of naira

How's that for reality check?
You made good points there.

And they should. Even the "freest" countries on the planet, from the US to Europe, have such mechanisms in place in addition to a gauntlet of surveillance cameras all over their streets taking note of every alphabet one types on their device and how many times one breathes.

The social media as we know it is becoming more and more inimical to the security of countries across the world, even though it has an almost endless array of positives. Some trouble makers just have to be kept tabs on, that's all.
You should envelope yourself in shame.

Are you telling us European and American Governments bother Twitter and Facebook for the private info of their own citizen? The problem with African leaders is that upon assuming political power all opposition and voices must be muffled and silenced!

The west don't bother about political critics and noisemakers and thier propaganda, because thier achievements and actions and transparent and visible for us to see. Not fake economic indices announced by your Government when reality denies you people.

The west go after terrorists and illegal money wiring and all. Not asking Facebook to remove comments .

Only a dumb African Government could make such requests.

You have lost your soul like Judas.

And when the Government abuses it what happens?
You take them to court. Courts have been ruling cases against the government, you might become one of such cases.

IP addresses are traceable. Everytime you login. Seun captures the IP address of your devuice. The same is true about all social media. It really doesnt't matter too much if every other informatio. you gave is fake.
