You must be really ignorant to say such.Dont you know we deserve our privacy?.

When we tell them to move to telegram because they don't give up user data to government agencies, they say it's not popular.Well they would keep invading your privacy.

I never thought Nigeria would be among but it seems they have joined the "surveillance crew".It isn't normal to spy on your citizens.
Including those that clone SM account of people and organizations, do you know the account they seek its details?

I clicked on the press release by elbit and I could not find Nigeria nor anything that referred to social media monitoring.

Premiumtimes simply did junk journalism in this case and that's why you can't find the news in other major news outlet.

Go back and read it again and click the link. You are too old to peddle false information on Nairaland.

Very true

Except for the fact that your phone and system logs cookies, Google automatically sees your location even if you don't turn GPS on, they always write (based on your search experience

Ever wondered how Facebook knows which ads they'll play for you when you watch video? What about YouTube? You need a Gmail account to comment on YouTube

Every Android phone requires Gmail account to access playstore games and updates, Google logs your browsing history, cookies and searches

You upload pictures and tag it with friends at a location, by so doing Google can triangulate your location or find your location using mutual friends

Don't lie to yourself, if government wants your data, it's available everywhere, even people who send you sms adverts buy your details, hundreds of thousands of details with tens of thousands of naira

How's that for reality check?
Google owns both Android app and gmail, that's why they are synced

I don't why Africa and their gov't is like this? instead of concentrating on good governance and providing good social security services for the people, they are their trying to monitor users private account and social media talks. .they forget that even dead people exist on the social media and anyone can create a fake social media account online. .instead of being fair and doing the right things, they are busy hunting people down. .so one's private love talk or gist on the phone will be tap and listen to by one jobless guy sitting on a headphone listening to my love talk all in the name of monitoring hate speech. .me tire for this country self. .God why did you create me a Nigerian? out of the millions of sperm my dad release in my mum's womb, I fight, struggle and manage to win the race nd swim to fertilize the eggs only to cry 'hen, ehnen ' here in nigeria. .n.a. wa!

Nairaland complies 100%. A friend of mine who is already outside of Nigeria told me in an email yesterday that he believe seun gave out his private information due to his experiences lately, meanwhile, the fellow responded to a lot of the hate speeches against igbos during the python dance. You see?

All governments, hierarchies, business entities and religions of this world are agents and tools of and for the god of this world. So says the Holy Bible.

Guys we are in the end times. You can argue against it. It doesn't matter. Your disagreement is in itself a sign of the end. None of those institutions truly serves the people but their Master, Satan.

JESUS is coming soon to establish His own Just and Peaceful Order. He is Lord!

Wasting of time and money Nigeria government don't mature to that extent you're monitoring fake information 90% of Nigerians online provided fake information which couldn't be traceable to anywhere.
but many of them connects their phone no, emails and pictures to the accounts, also as u log in to those services your IP is recorded, if the govt is serious about tracking anyone they can.

Time To Get New Fake Accounts.
While at that, make sure you get a new phone that has no camera and a new line that you will not disclose the number to anyone.

Also make sure anything and everything you do on that phone does not include anything that can be traced to you.

See how a single man fooled the presidency, judiciary, DSS, military, police, yoruba youths ,northern youths and made them a laughing stock in the international committee. I never liked NK but his courage and wits is sometimes admirable.
For the first time I have seen the whole government confused before the international world. Nigeria just left 300 foreign bodies and are now in a diplomatic row with US and UK without IPOB firing a single knock out.

What will play out if ipob goes full blast
Nigeria didn't leave 300 international bodies, get your facts right. Nnamdi Kanu has fooled nobody except of course the jobless youths agitating for secession. The Government can be gathering the information to protect the people better, intelligence gathering is not a new thing.

I guess you missed this

"Nigeria is the only government in Africa to have made a user information request to Google and it was fully complied with"
“Google had rejected all of Nigeria’s seven previous requests,” it explained.

Jobless government. When they should be thinking of how to make life better for the common man on the street. Instead they want to monitor social media users. Them go tire. This what you get when retired military dictator becomes the president under a democratic setting. I have said my mind. Come and arrest me.
