Good evening my fellow Nairalanders, I am having a serious issue with my caretaker that doesn't wants to understand the meaning of monthly or yearly payments of house rent. I made payment of my house rent last year 30th of October 2016 which will expire this year 30th October 3017 but he is insisting that my rent has expired last month September and that I should pay for another year of which my rent has not expired. Please I want your sincere contributions because I want to show it to him as soon as I get back from work. Nah beg I dey o my people. This recession thing no be here. Please I need your contributions please!!!

Your analysis is wrong friend. If I should rent it January 1st when will my rent expire? 365 days is a year and not 335 days. Common man, calculate it nah. What of salary issues?

He paid on October 30th not 1st. The rent should starts reading on November 1st- October 30th...making 12 months

sit your landlord down clamly and explain to him that its not that you are unwillng to pay but to forestall future contradictions your rent begins on Nov 1st , since you paid Oct 30th. Do the analysis by writing the months. And tell him that if your rent should expire on Oct 1st like he claimed, you would have paid a month's rent on two day.
if he's fixate on collecting the two days. Calculate it and pay him.
I rented my apartment on 15th Aug. and my rent expires every 1st of Sep. My landlord gave me 15 days grace to get the place ready and move in.
Even up till now, Ive not paid my rent and Ive called him to explain to him that by Nov I'll come up with it.
Just explain to him. The months and days get many ppl confused
