The Nigerian Senate will be launching a probe into a letter written by the Minister of state of Petroleum Services, Ibe Kachikwu to President Muhammadu Buhari complaining about insubordination and Ill-treatment from the GMD of the Nigerian National petroleum commission(NNPC), Dr Maikanti Baru.

PoliticsNGR gathered that the Senate will be investigating the matter after a motion by Senator Samuel Anyanwu which had an amended prayer on the issue by Senator Kabiru Marafa.

Aliyu Wamakko heads the nine-day ad-hoc committee. It was also learnt that no timeframe was given to the ad-hoc committee by Senate President Bukola Saraki.

On Tuesday, Ibe Kachikwu penned an 8-page letter to the president complaining about Baru's ill-treatment towards him.

In the letter, which was leaked to the press, Ibe levelled heavy accusations on Baru, stating that Baru issued contracts without consulting his office, labelled him anti-north, made appointments without due consultation and accused him of conspiring with militants

Buhari got away with it in 1977 when $2.8bil disappeared from NNPC. Ibe Kachikwu's letter alledge missing $26bil. Buhari should not be able to get away with it a second time. The purpose of Buhari making himself petroleum minister was to use Baru to siphon billions.

Ibe kachikwu have been a very hard working man yet the dullard couldn't appreciate him, now the national assembly is doing the work of a supposed father of the nation .

Shows the disdain the president had for Mr. Ibe's letter, or he was not ready to entertain such 'nonsense' letters against the GMD.

The letter was written to the president, not the senate. This is just damage control. They'll sweep it under the carpet.

So senate don't have work to be getting on with, they are now probing letters not addressed to them that they learn about via the news media?

You would think that they would concentrate on creating law and bills such as Petroleum Industry Bill and Bill for creation of special courts for corruption cases, and bills to plug leakages of our wealth. Considering how we can draft a complete new constitution that works and reducing the cost of governance particularily their own over-inflated wage bill.

Who doesn't know that even the Acting President experienced some level of ill-treatment when the President was away in hospital in London? As usual, these things are swept under the carpet in Nigeria.

Buhari's administration has simply brought to the fore the obvious - that there are two classes of citizenry in the country.

If all Southerners serving in this govt. should be bold to open up what they're passing throught in the hands of their colleagues and subordinates of the Northern extraction, you'll feel sorry for them. Truth is that they're ashamed cos they helped in one way or the other in installing this govt.

Even the no. of BMCs are waning in this platform as some who have not allowed their conscience to be battered in it's entirety are getting to understand that they are harming their tomorrow today.
