As frustrating as watching Disney Junior and Nickelodeon TV channels every Saturday morning with toddlers.

Nah, it doesn't work that way, there's no size fits all

there are adults who are also closet atheists, it depends on the level of seriousness the family has for things of religion

coming out as an atheist can sometimes cause pain to families. What lovIng mother would be at rest when she feels her child is hell bound. So going to church is a small sacrifice to see my folks happy. Besides every Sunday experience, my disbelief in religion is reaffirmed. So go troll someone else.

glad u are here bro
Need ur opinion on something. A bit private bt i might as well post it here. My fiancee knows about my disbelief, we are planning on tying the knot come may bt the problem is she doesn't want a church wedding cos she feels its wrong getting hunched in a system i don't believe in . Our parents meanwhile aren't even entertaining the idea of a court wedding.

well, I'm not exactly in your shoes so my opinion would be only based on the info you gave me

if I were you, I'd make sure I convince her to go for the church wedding as it barely matters in the grand scheme of things

but that's me, we all differ and I'd like to hear the opinion of other atheists

First and foremost let me show you proof you are a kid who obviously still lives in mama's house.

If you do not go to church who would know? (especially if you are self reliant).

So your "loving" mother would automatically conclude you are hell bound if you do not go to church? When does not going to church translate to being an atheist?

1. You do not have to tell her you are an atheist.
2. You can still not go to church yet not tell her you are an atheist
3. If you still live with her (which I know you do) you would then be saying the things you are saying.
4. If you did not live with her then who cares if you do or do not go to church? Certainly not your mother who lives in her own house.

You are a kid! Period!

The guy showed more maturity than you and gave a reasonable explanation. His mum lives with him.

You are a childish troll. Please, ask yourself why you are on this thread when you are not an atheist.

Imo you guys should be able to take decisions on your own,you are both adults and your parents must recognise that irrespective of their religious beliefs

His mom lives with him indeed.

What are you doing in the religious section? Are you religious?

In your village an adult who cannot think for himself or take decisions for himself is an adult ba?

He and you are still kids period!

So telling someone who told him he believes in talking donkeys that the person believes in talking apes is now an insult?

I can see he was right about you. Ever since he commented on your egocentric nature you seem to have been monitoring him. Looking for a slip up and you thought this was it.

You are childish and silly. Your antics show your immaturity.

I don't care what you think about me, I'm not bothered one bit.

So, him, uploading a picture that depicts the guy as brainless is not an insult?
Later vaxx will be shouting respect and no insults upandan. I can't stand hypocrites.

Is that the guys picture? I see no insult there. That was even a caricature of Dawkins so how does that offend you? Are you Dawkins or is the guy him?

Abeg go and sleep and stop making yourself look even more childishly silly.

Of course you and him would see no insult. But if it were the reverse he would be playing the victim. Just common correction na im una 2 carry for head. Let me hear him chide someone for being rude or utters "no insults" again fest
