We don't value our lives in Africa. Money for rail has been looted along with the money for security, health services delivery, ....

Gov Ambode should,as a matter of urgency construct rails on this bridge running from Ojota to Anthony end of Lagos.Just a little skirmish on that bridge and lots of lives will surely be lost..may God forbid!

It's been like that SINCCEEEEEEEE

Back in my high school days i'd
trek home via that bridge every day nothing ever happened , whilst those too scared would go under the Bridge

Hopefully Installation of rails won't lead to students sitting on it to form brave

For those dumping refuse on the other side of the Bridge please STOP

It is obvious the rails were cut / stolen. Question. Is it govt that stole it?

My trekking route during my secondary school days after "embezzling" my transport fare! cheesy

The rails were constantly vandalized and ended up at "kotomalla" scrap yard beside the Ojota new garage.
bros, no be only u o....I trekked that side of the bridge too. at first, it seems scary but after that...u feel nothing.

Railings were there, they were cut off by hungry and wicked people, so don't jst paint the govt in bad light. I suggest that the govt should instead use concrete on the sideways of these bridges, because iron merchants wl keep stealing the metal railings.

It is usually scary at first but with constancy you get a hang of it. I didn't really need to go home by bus because I cut through the new garage to get to the side of my street in Ojota. So the distance from Ojota bus stop to my place was even farther than from the new garage to my place so it made no sense thus the T-fare ends up as snacks! cheesy

It's funny how we call on government for everything when we the people are so irresponsible. Apparently those railings were stolen and didn't fall off. The pedestrian parts of all Lagos bridges are like this and this is why new construction works now carry concrete protectors.

We the people should also learn to detest and report irregularities to the authorities before it becomes a nuisance.

This is not new. All the bridges in Apapa/kiri kiri are like that.

They haven't finished the railroad Fashola started ten centuries ago, u're talking about a bridge with Good roads. Odiegwu.

Nobody ever, ever falls off that bridge because if u're walking on that bridge, means u're Street-wise. Except u're a JJC. Then sorry.

The mere fact that nobody has ever fallen off the bridge is not substantial enough to rule out or foreclose occurrence in the nearest future .Please how do you know that nobody has been a victim of this Mr know it all?

This is not proper.

Even as an adult I can't walk on that bridge without fear of falling off the bridge let alone children.

If anything should happen to anybody on that bridge due to the absence of rail, the blood wiil be on this government's neck.

They embark on construction of roads without having a second thought. The mayhem they are causing on Ikeja along- Iyana Ipaja and beyond route is just unnecessary.

The blood is not gonna be on the present, past nor future administration's neck but on the idiots who cut out the rails and sold them as scrap metal. It's worse when it's aluminium railings, those ones don't even last a month and they'll steal them.

Even when the government puts things in place, people go ahead and plunder them. Almost all manhole drainage covers on Abuja roads have been stolen too.

Poverty is really a mental and physical state of being.

That being said, urgent attention has to be given to it. Probably a redesign using concrete though that'll pose some new challenges, integration and weight.

its not the fault of government, if you check very well from the pics you will see that our people actually stole the grills. they might have sold it for some thousand of naira and join those that are complaining now to complain. i pity this country

You are the one who needs to STFU.
If government cannot

- educate people
- EMPLOY monitors
- maintain the facilities

should they not resign or be sacked the way premier league coaches are sacked for non performance?
Why do we like making needless excuses for government officials whom we OVERPAY and who nevertheless steal more money from us?
Why

Useless government..i am sure they have used the (hand) rails to bury cables used for Light Up Lagos

The contract for the repairs work would not be publicized now, they would just go to Bourdillion, dobale and show Nairaland (current thread) and Oga would approve straight. sad

Fashola handed over everything good to Ambode ..check the handover notes...Ambode sef cry cry cry

Your fellow brothers from the potopoto republic of crime and drugs stole all the railings to sell at Upper Iweka. You are now here blaming your slave masters for the crime of your fellow pigs and idiots.

It is when there's pandemonium around that axis and people start running for their dear lives, that's when you will know the path is not wide enough. it's better the attention of Lagos state govt is drawn to it.

nor be today na. Though the railings were installed but since they were made of aluminium, boys go there at night and cut them and market them. It is pure vandalism
