JOHANNESBURG - Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has condemned the attack on police officers in Vanderbijlpark .

A police spokesperson said six officers were injured in the scuffle with Nigerian nationals.

“No amount of anger can justify the attack of police officers," Mbalula (police minister) said in a statement.

"Undermining of police is equivalent to undermining the authority of the state.

"I am warning these thugs to desist undermining our police.”

A case of assault, attempted murder and murder has been opened.
No arrests have yet been made.
