'Parents and guradians stormed some Primary Schools in Benin today to resist immunisation of their children as a result of the rumour spreading  in some quarters like Harmattan fire that some elements  are bent on injecting the dreaded Monkey Pox  virus into children through immunisation.

It is only God that can help us in this country'.

Has it gotten to this stage?I was thinking that it is only a southeast issue.Edo is APC.Why are people disrespecting our army?

I don't see what's the big deal here, just allow the infectious disease to kill them if they refused to be immunized.

The same thing happened for north when polio immunization was going on, they rejected it saying their kids will become barren, till 4 out of every 15 kids started getting polio a few months after birth, that's when northern ers come back to their senses & started rushing for immunization in hospitals.

Army was not sent to immunize people in the north during that period without prior notice,proper sensitization is always done prior to commencement of any immunization activities,polio immunization is a routine immunization in southern Nigeria till date

Immunizations are done according to the national immunization scheme, on national immunization days by trained personnel. It's a pity we have degenerated to this level of abuse.

You are 100% right my brother. Immunizations are done according to the National immunization scheme/day. The big question that begets an immediate response is? Has anyone seen NA giving out immunization to Children in his or her environment? What the NA did was medical outreach which is voluntary to the locals. It has nothing to do with the injecting the Children as earlier said. The rumour mongers are here and there for their political gains. The medical outreach was done in Anambra, and I begin to question people within my area, Warri, here, if they have seen any NA giving children injection. The replies were " them hear say , them hear say.
