Nigeria has no steel industry, then buy those fully manufactured fighters from Russia or even Sweden. Then have the vision to create a 5-10 years plan in sustainability in steel production with the overall aim of creating a fully functioning aeronautic ecosystem.
That is what the Indians did. They are one of the largest importers of weapons in the world but they want to be self-sufficient.

There is a difference between building a Model and Mass Producing that Model.


So you don't need a steel industry to build a Model but need it to mass produce that model.



Nigeria needs to have a military technological show that encourages everyone including the civilian population with military technology to showcase theirs for selection of those types needed by the military.



The Military strength of the Western Nations, lies in giving room for the military technologies made by the civilian population to be seen, analyze and the important ones selected for further investment in partnership with wealthy people and companies.

The issue is, Indians are yet to fully incorporate the input of their civilian minds in catching up with the West and Chinese.

concurrently they poached scientists from USSR after its break down to work in their educational institutes

plus western civilian technology poured in Chinese industries which they retroactively studied and reverse engineered to serve their purpose

all in all for their educational sector only they had a 100+ billion dollars 30 years plan to bring them at par with the west and which by the way is still continuing

Indian educational reforms started in the 70s but only after India opened up its economy in the 90s (20 years after china) did the reforms started showing meaningful results.
