Hello Nairalanders, i need your opinion about an issue that was brought to me by a friend.

A friend of mine came to me this afternoon on a particular issue that has been of great concern to him. Some time in April he was told about a "grant" from the United Nations on poverty alleviation in Africa (Nigeria inclusive). This "grant" will see that each individual gets some amount of money that runs into millions of naira to startup a business. And the sum of 2k was paid by him to apply.

Since that time till now no one has been paid and he is been told to be patient that they are making final preparations.

Now his major concern is that; has anyone heard of something like this or benefitted from such schemes or "grant"? Should he still put his hopes on this said "grant"?

I honestly don't know what to say to him because i don't have any idea about it. Hence, i brought it here to seek other people's opinion about it.

Wow, you are also a participant of this, does it mean he should still hold on? And the grant is actually real?

but I dont trust dem maself bcox I suspect dat form, especially where you are to write the amount you need urself,
