the flight is a 12noon flight. So you know when to come home.''

He walked away immediately but not without hearing his family's hisses
and questions, particularly Maryann's, who asked Dami if she happen to
know what is wrong with her brother. 'No, I don't' was the short reply
she gave before he hurried off angrily.

''Why will she know?'' he asked inwardly. ''Why will she admit that
she broke their brother's heart and they are all busy being nice to
her? Why? Why? Why?'' he murmured as he sank into his car's seat.

One last time, he cast a jealous glance at all the happy and smiling
people around him and wondered why his case should be different, he
hated being the unusual one and being the one at the receiving end of
all the questions but he couldn't help it, he can't help it, Dami had
hurt him real bad with the way she turned him down. He had always
thought she loved him, that that is her reason for always sticking
around him. He should have sensed it, he should have known that she
only liked him as a friend.

He banged his fist on the steering, no woman has ever rejected him, he
has never for once loved any woman and just when he thought he has
fallen in love, the woman bursts his bubble and once more proves him
right that love doesn't exist.
''Oh my!'' Maryann said as she got closer to Nate, after the number of
people around him reduced to just close friends, whom she recognized
from the traditional and church wedding. ''Someone is looking good.''

''Let me guess, you're crushing on me.'' Nate teased.

''My husband is way cuter,'' she said and cast an apologetic look to
Jane, ''I can't crush on you.''

''Look how perfect this ankara fits you.'' Mary chimed in.

''Thanks Mary,'' Nate replied. ''I just realized I've been missing out
on alot of things.''

''When you and K.C have a phobia for ankara, love and marriage, why
won't you miss out?'' Mary said. ''Luckily, you've overcome them now,
we're still waiting for one Mr. K.C to overcome his own fears.''

Damilare came over and hugged his cousin. ''Happy married life man, I
can't wait to attend the baby shower and naming ceremony.'' they all
burst into laughter when  Nate's countenance changed. Obviously, he
still hasn't wrapped his head around the idea of having kids playing
and running around his house.

''Sister Mi.'' Benjamin called from behind Jane.

''Sweetheart,'' she answered and noticed the look they all gave her
including Nate. ''sweetheart, that is what I call him,'' she
explained.

Benjamin shook his head, laughing at how quickly people jump into
conclusion. ''So, how many healthy and robust kids are you willing to
give this man.'' he asked, referring to Nate.

''12 is okay.'' she answered.

They all cheered her and gave her a thumbs up.

''What about 22?'' Maryann asked. ''two football teams.''

Nate gasped in shock, too bad his two close friends are not around to
support him. After K.C left, Ken also came out to tell him that he is
leaving for his parents house and now it seems like every other person
he knows are in Jane's team.

''Maybe 15.'' he heard Maryann's husband, Richard say.

''1.'' he blurted out and all pairs of eyes turned to him.

''1?'' Dami and Damilare chorused.

''Yes, 1.'' he answered.

''Just one kid,'' Mary asked. ''We'll will see about that.''

The conversation continued, a very uncomfortable conversation for
Nate, as everyone kept on mentioning changing of diapers and sleepless
nights.
