I have only manage to squeeze some milk out of my breast d to feed her yesterday and she took it but milk isn't flowing well pls what should I do my baby isn't looking healthy and she is 7days old.

Drink hot water!
I've been having sore throat and I've been drinking really hot water to get some relief. I noticed that it made my breast really full and I get engorged. I usually drink a large cup of hot water

Try it. It may work for you

update on your question.

you need to consider the following:

Are you going by private car or public transport. either case i would suggest taking your car seat and paying for an extra seat if going by public transport. if going by public transport, check the seat belts the car seat is to be strapped in to ensure it is not bad, and also learn how to strap the car seat in and do it your self.

How long is the journey and where is the usual half way stop point? I have never been to Ilorin per se, so let me use lagos-benin as an example.
Ore is the half journey point which is about 2 or so hours into the journey so you factor in any breastfeeding and nappy changes to coincide with this time. it is also a good time to stretch and let them get out of the car seat for a bit.

If going by private car, planning stops are easier, public transport is usually trickier but people are usually quite considerate when a small baby is involved.

If you are unable to pay for an extra seat, and if you have a baby carrier - take it! and use it to strap your baby to your self to allow your hands to be free. whilst it is not ideal especially for longer out of journeys you can then use the seat belt on both of you but you may have to hold the straps out of the way abit as it may fall around baby's neck

Also since baby is like 4 months, you can put baby facing out in the carrier, this also allows easier bottle feeding and your baby is able to see what is going on and can be distracted by the journey.

Plan to bottle feed during the car rides in the car seat if required in between. and unless baby poos, any nappy change should take you from lagos to Ore and from ore to Benin.

Also change and feed just before your leave your base.
take at least two clothes changes including vests, and extra bibs and at least a pack of wipes for the journey,

take a big bottle of water as you may need to rinse / wash out stuff,

Take some nylon bags for nappy changes or for soiled clothing.

Hope this helps
thanks ma. the precautions are helpful.

Stephmiracle I read your last update, I don't think the maggot entered his body cos you backed him while teaching so biko don't quit your nwa teacher job.
Many things can cause it:

* A bedwetted mattress that wasn't sun dried and was infested by a fly(it could be in your house or maybe where you laid him)
* damp clothes even wrapper
* where you kept him to play.

You are even lucky the maggot no multiply and you didn't even have to apply red oil with salt (it'll(maggot) come out to lick it) around the place to bring it out. I don't know if he needs antibiotics or tetanus injection, maybe you should ask his paed.

Good morning mama's

Try steam inhalation with a drop of silverbird or mentolathum or any baby friendly rob and try to suck it out if you can do it or use the suction bulb mama's talked about here. Massage his body with hot water (the one that won't burn his skin), apply mentolathum on his back, sides and under his feet. Wear him warm clothes but if the weather becomes hot please unwarm the clothes into something light.
Since you're already going to hospital, the doctor will know the medicine to give him after some necessary checkup.

keep putting her to breast. don't give up. it's not too late. but don't force it. when she turns away, give her formula so u don't starve her. when she's hungry again, put her to breast again. also use a breast pump when she's not sucking

Mama zaynie, weldone for the beautiful work you're doing.God bless you & yours.

Please mamas, does anyone has experience with this GInt flask? I observe that the hotness is less than 24hrs, though I'm not sure if the culprit could be not pre-heating at first before use. And if yes, does that mean no remedy to it again? Are there other uses to it, or is it now as useless as the s in isle...please,abeg, ejor, biko, dohh make una help me chook mouth for this matter as money wey I take buy still dey pain me inside my bone marrow.

Sorry oh, this may be a stupid question but I've always thought of it, why do you need a flask to be hot for 24 hours? Me I change my water every morning (5am) and breastfeed all night so the last time I use flask water is about 7pm...that's about 14 hours

Is it me that is doing oversabi or keeping hot water for a day is a thing?

Lol!!
the 24hr hotness is not for normal days, when you are home and have access to a kettle. it is for when you are travelling perhaps and are not sure you will get hot water where you are going. so it helps you buy time.

Its like all these deodorants that say 48 hrs protection.. my initial reaction is.... Edakun brother mi..... you no dey baff everyday? lol! but if you look at those adverts properly the people are you usually in some wilderness location doing some action man/ woman moves where you may not have access to a shower for a day or two....

Just like me, I also realise I don't need the hot water in the flask for 24hrs. Once the water has lost its steam, I jejely use the water as cooled boiled water for ds drinking and mixing formula.

Mixing formula shouldn't be with hot water so as to preserve the live cultures as I read on the formula can.

I join you to ask sabi Mamas what other uses 24hrs hot water is used for?

Well, it's never a stupid question. The hot water is for both myself and lo, I still drink hot water almost everytime so once water is no more useful for baby, it becomes useful for me at least to help my tummy so I don't just throw the unused water away and I even wish the flask can even last up to 10 hrs in 24hrs self but it doesn't so you see.....I just need ideas on what else it can be useful for or is it just to throw it away since it's not serving that purpose

If a flask can't keep water hot for up to 10 hours then that one is not a flask, even my small Milton does 7 hours no issues. Don't throw it away sha, you may still find some other short term use for it

Lemme confirm. They have reached out to me. The pump is back working with the battery and the powerpack will be replaced per our agreement. It's actually a relief from the nipple pain. My initial fear was cos their numbers weren't going through but that has been rectified now with the New numbers. Thanks

Just to update that this has been resolved, power-pack has been replaced.

Hello Madam, we don't do home delivery yet and 3-6kgs will be size 3. There are 56 pieces in a bag and 3 bags in a carton. At the moment we only have Toujours and that is 4 bags in a carton with 56 counts in each bag. You will have to buy a minimum of 1 carton.

God bless you mama for the response. Its definitely not a bedwetted mattress cos he doesn't sleep in the night without diaper and I normally spread mackintosh when he sleeps with his bum bum open in the after noon. Its not also a damp wrapper but I believe it must be definitely during the times I brought him out from the flat to play with our neighbours. All the same, I no go quit my Nwa teacher job oh cos I still need the chikini pay. Lol. Thank you so much ma for the concern. God bless you
