The man sure knows how to attract customers...what a wonderful marketing strategy. A Merchant and his crew delighted a Nigerian woman who came for shopping at a store in Dubai. The merchant who owns a jewelry shop at Dubai Gold Souk in Deira district, sang series of Yoruba songs with the woman fluently while she did her shopping. The employees also joined in singing the Nigerian songs with their master and the excited woman in the presence of others at the store. When you stroll through the streets and markets in Deira, you are sure to notice Nigerian influence on the Indians, Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi and other merchants from Asia. Many of them speak pidgin English with a few smattering of Igbo and Yoruba. Thing is, Nigerians there are very outgoing. The hustling boys there have even made the merchants learn how to be aggressive with calling potential customers, whereas in the past, they quietly sit in their shops and wait for customers to approach.
