if it was upto me i would have hooked u up with a better deal with regard to FC1/JF17

FC-1 deal directly with china with ironclad provision for local MRO and lifetime support , Chinese supplied Russian engines and local involvement with Chinese aerospace for skill development leading to subsequent MLU participation for the Nigerian FC-1.

the fact that u have to get ur engines directly from Russia is a bit of handicap IMO, becz the volume of order will be small and the documentation / legalities associated will be time consuming.

one point source for all ur aircraft needs makes life very easy from operational POV. spares , weapons , consumables , engines u name it

now everything (except engines) gets routed through 3rd party who will take their share of profits

also the fact if the deal had been with the Chinese , u could have leveraged and linked the FC-1 purchase to get aboard the stealth J31 program at lower costs and with in house Nigerian involvement, which Chinese anyways intends to export. the possibilities r huge given ur negotiation skills.

in my opinion these is how i would have gone about , a deal in the present leveraged to get me a better deal in the future to take of my future requirements also. ie make my every penny count

view r my personal views and may not be correct

INDIA'S PLANNED THIRD RUSSIAN NUCLEAR ATTACK SUBMARINE TO OPERATE BY 2023

India has decided to go ahead with its plan to lease a third nuclear attack submarine from Russia. Sources said a Project 971 SSN hull classification general-purpose attack submarine has been picked out from among many options and that the boat would undergo massive repairs and modernization at a Russian shipyard before being handed over to India.

As per a TASS report, India is pushing for a plan to station a technical team at a Russian shipyard to witness the complex refitting and modernization process of nuclear attack submarines. The refit will be carried out at the Russian shipyard in Severodvinsk and the refitted boat will be named ‘INS Chakra-III.' The entire process will be completed over an estimated six-year time frame.

Indian Navy is also awaiting the delivery of a second Project 971 (Akula-Class) SSN AKA ' INS Chakra-II ' which it had leased from Russia a year ago. The Indian Navy (IN) currently operates 1 SSNs ie the INS Chakra, formerly the Russian Navy's K-152 Nerpa, commissioned into the Indian Navy in April 2012.

At present, negotiations are underway to accommodate India's desire to send a delegation of shipbuilders to the Severodvinsk yard to witness and assist in the refitting and modernization of the third SSN India intends to lease. The hands on experience would be of significant help to Indian shipbuilders who are being tasked with the responsibility of constructing at least six nuclear-powered submarines, locally at an estimated cost of over $12 billion.

IADS (integrated air defence system) architecture for LCH

it comprises of

1.LWR laser warning receivers
2.RWR radar warning receivers
3.MAWS missile approach warning receivers
4.DIRCM directed infra red counter measure system
5.CMDS counter measure dispensing system

also LCH comes with obstacle avoidance system OAS

and a program to develop a overhead MMW radar for LCH has been initiated , though it will take some time due to tech. complexities

New radio-wave sensors are designed to suss out hidden explosives —whether in car bombs or carry-on laptops.

Detecting roadside bombs and other IEDs has been a major — and deadly — challenge for the U.S. military since it invaded Iraq and Afghanistan at the start of the century. And for the majority of that time, Raytheon has been working to develop a sensor that could identify those explosive materials shielded in a car, packed into a case, or hidden on a person.

The result of that decade of work: a new radio-frequency sensor that identifies explosives by their chemical composition.

The system is called REDS, or Raytheon’s Explosive Detection System, and it’s scalable — from a handheld sensor the size of a laptop to a full-size checkpoint that can scan pedestrians and vehicles as they pass. It’s still experimental; Raytheon has a contract to demo it with the Joint Improvised-threat Defeat Organization, or JIDO, the latest iteration of the military’s anti-IED skunk works.

That organization has struggled at times to respond to the ever-changing IED threat, but its work is as relevant as when it was stood up in 2006. The Islamic State used suicide bombers, booby-trapped buildings, and vehicle-borne IEDs to great effect in its defense of Mosul. And just this past weekend, a pair of car bombings in Somalia’s capital killed more than 300 people, including at least two U.S. citizens.

The electromagnetic spectrum is a crazy thing. You can create problems and solutions from it. However, it's easier creating the problems lol.
