Damn internal security "operations"
Anti Robbery?
Cattle Rustling?
Stop & Search? (The idiots have now turn to the police and collect change from drivers on the highway)
worse is Operation burst in Ibadan.. I swear I spit every time

The Arny is bent on becoming the police
It is very sad, same way the navy wants to become a coast guard only good at chasing vandals and busting illegal refineries, I mean for Bleep sakes that is not their purpose.
Imagine the Air Force now carries out areal surveillance of Abuja-kaduna highway meanwhile police helicopters are being used to ferry politicians and godfathers.
Have you seen the Nigerian police force hanger at Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport in Abuja? It’s filled up.

NA operational presence in some states isn't actually needed. The Nigerian Police should man up it's officers to take some critical tasks.
what do you think happens when the NPF fails ? Instead of addressing the root cause of the failure like inadequate funding, training and manpower, Federal government/presidency gives orders for the army to move in.

Mate, go read the report again. Denel has not sold anything substantial in the 2016/17 period to Kenya, Mozambique, Pakistan, Turkey.

The list is the top 10 countries which Denel will prioritise its marketing in the next 2 years.
Denel lifts more than 23 000 landmines in 8 months in Turkey

Demining teams from Mechem have lifted more than 23 000 landmines over an eight-month period on the eastern border of Turkey.

The state-owned arms and manufacturing company regards this as one of the most significant achievements ever in the field of humanitarian demining.

Mechem is a business unit of Denel that provides battle area clearance solutions, contraband detection services, mine-protected vehicles and ancillary equipment.

The demining specialist removed each of the potentially deadly devices by hand at a rate of more than 200 a day. The company announced that since demining operations started in 2016, there has not been a single fatal or serious injury to any of the team members.

“The Mechem team in Turkey are true ambassadors for South Africa who are saving lives of people in very difficult and dangerous conditions. South Africa should be very proud of the achievements of these brave men and women,” Ntshepe said.

Melchem was responsible for demining operations in Mozambique, Afghanistan, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

I dont just understand these people anymore
Instead of us to be conducting major exercises and the likes.
The NPF and the Ministry of Interior has just decided to be LAZY. Its as if putting an ex general in MoI is largely useless

NA operational presence in some states isn't actually needed. The Nigerian Police should man up it's officers to take some critical tasks.
DSS have literally no business to do with private security. If a robbery operation is going on in a bank the DSS does not have jurisdiction(except they are to join a joint task force on that) etc. The FBI responds when a case is of national security interest not just any case and you do be surprised that some very funny cases are classified within the national security red tape e.g the narcotics, crime syndicates with foreign connections, murder of persons important to the government or government officials and so on.
Some funny secondary dss roles are:
DSS protect oil workers and other persons important to the national economy in some cases .
DSS investigates cultists in federal universities,
DSS have locations in local government in oil producing communities and gather informations on the opinion of the locals towards the federal government oil exploration, treaths to oil installations, monitoring of the activities of militants(you do be surprised but the government know where some of this men sleep eat and worship but may be hands tied to move in on them for some reasons) , spread the words about possible threats in an area e.g when a bad malaria medication came from India a report was sent from DSS to Nigerian association of pharmacist and other drug retailers on how to identify the drugs and also requested information from them on the people promoting such drugs.

So sometimes DSS job does not always involve gun at all. For a whole year you may not even see any need to aim at something. Just a boring routine.

But the most important things is DSS is not concerned with direct civil security. Although they provide information and assistance to make this possible for local law enforcement agencies like NSCDC, POLICE and specialized task Forces.
