Konga and Jumia are by far the greatest online shopping mall in Nigeria, with great number of people patronizing them daily.

You hardly regret ever shopping with them with as they are a very reliable and trustworthy, and deliver the goods wherever you want it delivered!

Nothing great comes without its disadvantage! People are now falling victim of being duped online, ordering for goods and paying with the goods not being delivered! My sister actually happens to fall victim.

Initially, we thought it was a mix up and perhaps the phone ordered was delivered to the wrong person! But after heading to Jumia's nearest office, then we found out it was never a Jumia Official but a man that's currently working on bringing down the two great shopping mall.

It was her first time shopping online, and she never thought of what the outcome happened to be.

HOW IT HAPPENED!

She went online and saw the phone of her choice, not more than #20,000, then she saw a phone number she was to contact, of which she did, according to the man, named Mr. Mike, she's to pay before she get the phone, he forwarded the bank details and she paid into it, and she's yet to receive the phone as of today!

I haven't really bought anything from the two shopping mall, but I don't think they would have been operating with a bank account which display a man's name and not that of their Name!

Due to the location she was ordering from, he (Mr. Mike) informed here it would be delivered to her the third day and they ended the conversation, She's still expecting the phone today!

The problem now is, getting to the nearest Jumia office, they claimed the man was never their staff nor marketing manager as he keeps describing himself to people, and as of the time we went to report, we were told a case similar to ours was also tabled before them 3 days earlier.

STAY AWAY FROM KONGA, THEY ARE SCAMMERS.
Konga is a big scam.
I ordered on konga daily for foodstuff to meet my immediate needs because of the 24 hours delivery promise. Foodstuffs for the matter. Even after 36 hrs, I called and mailed the support center but to no avail. Then I cancelled the order and requested for refund. Two options are available for refund, kongapay or my wallet. I registered for kongapay because it is faster but my account was blocked even after verifying my bank card by deducting about #200, I mailed again but no refund. Continued with the next option of payout from my wallet, the wallet was charged for payout but until this moment after 48 hrs, the money is yet to be in my bank account. BEWARE OF KONGA. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

Your sister made a big mistake, I still don't know how she saw the sellers contact on Jumia. Jumia acts like an escrow between the buyer and seller and assuming she paid through Jumia and she didn't receive the phone, Jumia automatically refunds her money and she can also do same if she did not receive the product advertised.

Op,your sister is at fault here. We know already there are scammers online but why make it easy for them? If you go to konga or jumia site, you won't see contact of sellers, only products and prices and reviews. So your sister saw an Ad online,it wasn't on Konga or Jumia.
My last shopping on konga was last week and I got it in 2days after order. I choose pick up location and POD,and it went smoothly.
My last order on Jumia was 2 weeks ago,one of the order came in just 2 days. The other one came 3 days after order but it was not to the exact specifications I ordered. So I took it back to pickup location and returned it. Before I got home I have already got a text and email from Jumia acknowledging the return of the item.
The next day I was called by a Jumia customer care, apologizing for any inconveniences and they promised to refund my money as fast as possible. Like 4 working days after returning the product,my jumiapay wallet was credited with full amount I paid for the product and shipping fees that I was charged. I transferred the money back to my bank account immediately from my jumia pay. I was given free voucher of N1000 as compensation also.
What I'm saying is,don't come online to tarnish the image of a multi national company that thousands of people are patronising daily and are getting good services from, just because of your one bad experience that might even be your fault.
