It was a very horrible scenario.

I thank God it was only a dream.

I urge the Independent Republic of Catalonia not to give up their new-found freedom. They have done well to follow the proper channels in their quest for seccesion, this is indeed a welcome development. I urge our president to rightfully recognise and endorse this new Government, it will mean a lot to the Catalonians.

Well, the Catalonians should use dialogue to sort their way through. They should know that independence is not just given, it is taken!

But they just took it na.

One question , why is Spain forcing unity on those that don't want them
It shows that Spanish people are cowards that cannot survive on their own without the Catalans, just like how Nigeria cannot survive without Biafra.

The thing is Catalonia did not expect to be recognized. Because the fall out could be big in many European countries. Like Belgium. Even Bavaria could decide to leave Germany years down the line.

Then Basque country may wish to leave Spain next. It will further embolden Scotland.

Even Quebec could be tempted to try leaving Canada again.

So many countries have good reasons not to recognise Catalonia.
But the seed has been sowed and watered. Catalans have had a shot at it. Only the future will tell.

Although I think Catalonia has little to gain from Independence. Since they have a massive amount of regional autonomy already. Without the high costs of running a fully independent country.
