https://dregwaterspetroleum.com/images/logo.png The Global Women Petroleum & Energy Club Awards have been recognising excellence in oil, gas and energy every year since 2000, and one of their aims is to provide a platform for women in the upstream petroleum sector. One of the previous award winners of the 2016 Global Women Petroleum & Energy awards in Africa is Damilola Owolabi. Other past award winners have come from Morocco, Kenya and South Africa. https://cdn.dailytimes.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/dammy.jpg 25-year old Damilola Owolabi who is the Chief Executive Officer of Dreg Waters Petroleum & Logistics Limited, received the 7th Global Women Petroleum & Energy Club Award for Africa at the 23rd Africa Oil Week/Upstream Conference in October 2016 in Cape Town, South Africa. The award is given in recognition of rising and significant role of women, in global oil, gas and energy, in key roles. Global Women Petroleum & Energy Club is part of the suit of clubs and networks of Global Pacific & Partners, a leading advisory firm in the world upstream industry, established over three decades ago, with a distinctive portfolio. The Clubs and Networks act to connect corporate and state players, to facilitate critical industry interests and deal flow in the global upstream, providing unique global networking forums and allied social programmes for companies, governments and national oil companies within the worldwide industry, and across the value chain. Dreg Waters, which is run by Damilola Owolabi, is dedicated to helping clients secure licenses and permits for oil & gas operations in Nigeria, clearing of petroleum products into the country, leasing of marine equipment and supplying of manpower labour to organisations. Widely known for her undaunted passion to deliver value-adding services that promote oil and gas businesses in Africa, Damilola takes pride in the capacity of her company to provide clients with all the necessary information, documentation, products and manpower labour they need for successful operation. The award conferment is coming on the heels of her efforts to make business swifter for the sector players in Nigeria. She leads a vibrant team at Dreg Waters that seamlessly ensure that all necessary documents required by sector players from the appropriate authorities are: correct, up-to-date and given priority treatment. Owolabi's clients include multinational giants such as Total, Saipem, Julius Berger, Shell, Bourbon, Van Oord, Nigeria LNG etc. She notes that part of the efforts of her company to remain relevant, is to be innovative and expansive in terms of quality of services offered to clients. She explained that despite the nationwide recession affecting all industries including oil, her organization still operates in line with the company’s vision and has advanced beyond procuring licenses and permits for operators. The Ibo's have been playing the catch up game and they will keep doing that till eternity. Whatever the Yoruba's dumped they pick it up. Many tribes were into trading centuries before the Ibo's. By the time they wake up to tap the gains and impact of ICT , the Yoruba's will be running space tech programs. |
