Well I have seen bank executives and managers alike relocate to the USA.

The issue really isn't about how much you earn. But how comfortable you are.

The less risk of losing the little you have to bribe FRSC, police, lastma.........

Or being robbed off your belongings in traffic

The risk of being beaten by soldiers in traffic

The several juju using scammers

Being arrested falsely by police

YOur car getting bashed by a danfo, the conductor is ready to fight you if you complain

Civil servants threat you like rubbish when you wanna go get documents.

The list is endless jare....

The funniest and most expensive joke I have heard from Nigerians doing menial jobs in the US. and earning between $1,500- $2,000, is claiming that they are richer than bank managers in Nigeria. I guess they make their money in America while spending it in Nigeria. This stupid joke need to stop. A Nigerian doing menial job in the US. at best can be compare to someone receiving 80,000 Monthly in Nigeria in purchasing power. A Nigerian doing odd jobs for 10 yrs will still be paying rent while a 10 yrs bank manager would have long built two to three houses with a lucrative investment. Nigerians in America need to stop converting currencies because it is clearly stated that if you earn $12,000 annually in America you are living in poverty
Rubbish

Nigeria has a lot of loopholes for easy money making. A bank manager in Nigeria could make 1million Dollar overnight through shady deals and you will be busy calculating 1,500 Dollar for him.

Even someone earning 2500 usd before tax in America has a room mate while someone earning 80k in nigeria can afford to rent a two bedroom flat if he chooses to move out of his father's house.

2 bedroom flat in PH is 500k at least.

Then he is a thief and not a bank manager. The OP is comparing menial job workers in America with bankers in Nigeria.

Same thing I have been telling people everytime but they don't agree. You can only do the conversion when the money gets home.

In Lyon currently, even earning €30k annual salary means you will live a basic life. Same as someone with a 80k salary in Nigeria. Earning under €20k means you are living under the poverty line. Not even with a tax rate of 30%.

Don't think about owning a car or raising a family with a €20k salary in Lyon. I'm sure it's either you are homeless or sharing a room with such a salary in Paris.

And yet, I see these same people flashing all over Facebook but people back home don't know.

It will take an American hustler 20yrs to save for a 20% downpayment for a house. Thats just 40kusd for an average $200,000 house. It will take him another 30yrs to pay back the loan of $160,000 excluding interest. Thats 50yrs to own a single house. Enough time for even a bricklayer and shoemaker to build two houses in Nigeria
Lmfao. Now I see that your head is paining you. grin 20 years for downpayment? I don die grin grin grin

How much is the LEGITIMATE salary of a bank manager in Nigeria?

That amount won't get you a room self con in Abuja, Lagos or PH which can't even measure with any city in America in social amenities. Stop the exaggerations. Do you even live in Nigeria? This country is hell and you are here talking trash from statistics you got from the Internet.
Statistics written by people who owns the country. It is everywhere man. Check CNN, Forbes and Fortune. You guys refused to read that's why we are still brainwashed about the prosperity of Americans in 2017

Even middle class Americans who make $57,000 annually cant save a thousand dollars monthly. When you get to America the hidden truth will ne revealed to you

€20K is quite small to start a family there, even the 20k euros brut will not enter your pocket, 30 percent of that chunk will go to allocation chomage, cotisation etc. At the end of the year you will still pay annual tax, when you are renting house you pay yearly tax too, you pay for annual housing insurance too.

To make it worse, the higher you earn the more taxes, even people earning 40k euros a month end up in mysery as majority of their income is squandered by taxes. Driving itself is another taxing.

The good thing about them is that they support family union, you are guaranteed certain things when you hqve family compared to being alone.

see your life outside...let a car hit someone in the US and come see if they will ask for money before treating him. Shior!

There is more to life than naira, kobo, dollars and cents.

Once you figure it out, you will understand why the U.S. Embassy is one of the busiest embassies in Nigeria.

Anyone living in US who comes in here to debate this issue with you is a slowpoke.

For the fact that you are comparing the life of a bank manager in Nigeria and a menial worker in USA says it all. You just gave a backhanded compliment to bank managers in Nigeria.

When you tell people with good jobs or good business here in Nigeria, and you still see them chasing after US or Shenge visa just to go and live and work there, they will see you as enemy of progress.

If you are doing well here in Nigeria. Those countries are only good for a visit and shopping.

Quote me.

OP, this is really funny.

well, I won't write much but I'd like to tell you something.

I'm 25 but I live so so comfortable here. Infact, before i got my GC, I was doing some menial jobs(my first 13 months here), I know how much I saved and I know how much I invested. Now, I'm looking forward to becoming a citizen in few months to come and you know what it means, more better jobs that pays so well, so get your facts right. You should be comparing lazy Nigerians here with Naija bank managers and not the hardworking ones.

Now, I can comfortably tell you that I have a solid 5 bedroom dublex in my home town. I'm not so rich and never poor but I sleep like a baby.
I enjoy steady power supply, I enjoy security, I pay for what I use, no one intimidates me, I don't get bullied.

common, Peace is so costly that you can't get it anyhow but I have PEACE of mind

Infact, EgunMogaji must hear this.

I understand your position but I think you are not looking at it wholly. Let me use Netherlands for instance someone doing a menial job and earning 1800 Euros per month life's value is even better than that of a bank manager in Nigeria. Yes, the residual income of the bank manager is higher likewise is physical assets.

But what the guy in Netherlands takes for granted; security, social welfare, access to affordable and world class health facility, ability to send his children to the best school in the country without sweating about it is a luxury to the bank manager.

Yes, money wise the bank manager has more residual income but the life of the guy in Netherlands has more value than that of the bank manager so the question is how do you measure quality of life based on money in you bank account or free and easy access to the things that makes your life comfortable? The choice is yours and it is different for everyone.
I think this is one of the most sensible post I have seen in a while, dude keep doing what you do, don't stop!
