Mugu, there's no pride in living in the UK or US, so I wouldn't need to lie or brag about that. UK is a godforsaken country, but atleast they can market themselves very well to trap mumus like you to go there and provide cheap labour for them and stupid politicians to hide their loot.

As soon as my programme completes I will be on the first plane out of here.

Nigerians abroad, I advice you to manage your money and invest very well back home or in any other African country for that matter. Just have something to fall back on for the sake of your future. The kind of rat race life people live abroad is not good at all.

Mr. man which UK? Is it not the same one that I'am staying?

Rent-£ 850 pcm
Internet (BT)-£30
Phone (EE) -£15
Tube (Oyster)-£161.84 monthly.
Renting fridge, microwave, washing machine & drier-£40
Utilities (SSE)-£150
Shopping-£400
Drycleaning-£30

That's a total of £1700 (almost 800,000 Naira!) And that's a very modest student lifestyle ooo, assuming you stay locked up in your crib with no enjoyment whatsoever.

To be honest, people are just managing in this fcukd up place.

I have read the debates here .

Nigeria is d fastest place to make money only if u indulge in sharp practices.
I was working with mtn prior my relocation to Australia. I am currently schooling and I save at least 3000dollars a month.
It took me 3.years of dedicated savings to gather 3million naira which I used as my first deposit.

I've spent only 6months in a Australia and I've saved over 12,000 dollars that is over 3milion naira. I have bought a rav4 jeep during this time, married an American citizen during this time, paid my tuition fee of 8000dollars during this time.

My dept at mtn was outsourced nd salary was adjusted to 48,000. This is less than what I earn a day working as a student. So how much do u expect such person to save from a salary of 48,000 naira

Your post says it all but the Op is a pained deportee who knows nothing about living abroad. As soon as I have enough savings I'm relocating to Sweden or Australia for studies and workin. When I'm settled I will bring my soon to be wife over to study nursing. Then when it begins to pay of, I will locate this thread and show this mofo my paycheck.

My pad came with only a cooker fitted in and I don't cook anyways. undecided I had to rent or buy the rest of the equipment. Takeaway every night tends to raise the bills, not to mention grocery shopping and warm clothes as well. You know Richmond na. Anyway sha, you are implying that for one to live in the UK you must lower your standards, abi? Isn't that proving the OPs point?

This UK is hell on earth. After my masters I'll go back the next day after graduation. I'd rather move to saner African countries like Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, etc than stay in Onyiboland ever again.
I still don't think you live in London, and if you do it's obvious you don't have the discipline to live there. London is not a place for kids with bad spending habits. You can't live in any part of Europe like this, from your post it's obvious you come from a rich home and your stay there is sponsored by your parents. Leave Yankee for hustlers and come back for your parents to connect you for a good job. They wish you can stay there and hustle your way but you can't. Please come back, this topic is for people like you.

You're right. By August, 2018 i'll be out of here like a flash. Why should I hustle and for what? My Zimbabwean pal has his own real estate business in Jo'burg. Nigga ballin like crazy and he's only 30. I haven't come across anybody in UK who lives the life he lives, maybe those onyibo landed gentry from Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey etc, those ones whose ancestors made money from the slaves, opium and colonies.

Abeg go sit down joor, nothing you can tell me about UK. The only guys who can manage here are those who had no prospects in Africa, so this place is like heaven to them. And of course those into illegal activities (welfare, credit card fraud, drugs ,etc)

If you have a good job or business which you leave to come here, then you're insane.

why should you when Efcc hasn't caught them yet Now you want to ball like your Zimbabwean pal abi? How exactly did your Zimbabwean pall aquire his wealth? I'm sure it's not by balling but working hard for his money. Even if he got it through illicit activities, he needs a brain and discipline to maintain that wealth. All you talk about is balling and living big, this is not what life is all about. If you go that school finish for UK come back with this same brain you won't even make it in Nigeria without your parents assisting you. Because you can't even steal money the way they do, it's not something you learn by balling but by streets.

Nobody is capable of building anything within 2 yrs of staying in the US. even with a blue passport. Stop with the lies. Your pastor is involved in drug pushing
grossintel:
going their without papers intact is a bad idea, your friend made an ignorant mistake! Before you relocate, it's best you have someone to help you settle there or you go alone there at first. It's even better if you did your masters or Bsc there, that will give you an edge on employment. They won't employ you with your naija degree. My pastor and his wife relocated to USA via Dvc lottery back then, the man was initially regretting the move seriously because all they had was a degree that isn't recognised. And he couldn't do odd jobs, but along the line both him and his wife found something doing and his wife started a nursing course. She's a Registered nurse now, and earns heavily. They built what we call a mansion somewhere in Enugu town within two years and are doing excellently. Don't say what you don't know, you only suffer in Yankee if you are illegal with no papers, if you have papers and you are legal the only thing holding you from working is choice. Your friend might regret the move now, but in 3 years he will understand he made the best decision for himself and family. Nigeria is hell!!! You won't know until you visit developed countries, to come back will give you high blood pressure.

That's why I encourage people to become US citizens. Green card would save you the burden of paying high international student tuition, but as you said, some jobs will still be out of reach for you. Examples of such jobs are professional entry-level jobs in the FBI, or US intelligence agencies.

And someone will believe this grin

If your car is not insured you will pay through your nose if the unexpected happens, as for clothes you might be thrifty hence you don't need to buy new clothes monthly, for others it is important. You are living off your fiancé hence you are relaxed, if she decides to handover financial upkeep to you as the man, you won't survive it.

That's why i drive carefully and responsibly.
I do not live off anyone. In the US, it is a joint partnership. Not like naija where the husband is rolely responsible fir the entire family.

Pidgin2 has definitely gone to recruit her fellow people who have been constantly rejected by Walter Carrington.

There's really no need to lie to ourselves.

While America is no bed of roses, someone doing menial jobs in America will definitely be well of than a regular banker in Nigeria even if the persona doing menial jobs spends his entire money in the US.

The fact that after paying taxes, one can get uninterrupted power supply, good roads, great food is enough to discountenance whatever arguments you have. In America, the dream is not necessarily to own a house there but to live a comfortable above average life. Here in Nigeria, the dream is to build a house, whether in Sango Ota, Mowe or one obscure village where you will probably be kidnapped, robbed or killed.

Let's not kid ourselves, really.

People eyes are now opening and it is clear to everyone now that going to America doesn't gurantee anything, even with a student visa. The struggle for survival is a global thing and America doesn't even provide better opportunity than even Togo self.
