Why you must pay your tithe?....

The power to receive tithe comes from the power of their priesthood not from the law.....

You must know the meaning of a priest and tithe

A priest: A religious clergyman who is trained to perform services or sacrifices at a church or temple.

A tithe(1/10th): The tenth part of the increase arising from the profits of land and stock, allotted to the clergy for their support.

All these definitions are from Today's dictionary.

Let look at the origin of tithe ....

The first man who received tithe was not an Israelites, neither a decedent
of Abraham. His name is Melchizedek.

The tithe was received even before there was dream to conceive moses.....far before the existence of the mosaic law.....so it was received in grace(Romans 6:14B: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.)

(Genesis 14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

14:20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.)

And a testimony of
him was written that he was a king and also a priest of the most high God...if you continuing reading Abram paid him the tithe of all....

You may be wondering why abram paid tithe of all from the good spoil..at that time any man that goes to war owns the spoils of war because they put there life on the line....(check 1 sam 30:22-25 for reference)


But the major question is why should pastor receive tithe?

When Jesus came, he elevated us with him (Ephesians 2:6 And hath
raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in
Christ Jesus which gave us the power of a priest in
(1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an
holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises
of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light

to be not just a priest but a royal priest....furthermore the book of revelation buttress it
(Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.) To be sure of our stand as a priest.....

You may say that apply to all Christian but 1 Corinthians 12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

Apparently NO!

And God elate a leader according to his own holy calling...(2 tim1:9 ref.)

And as a priest of the most high God you must pay your tithe to them but if you don't consider them to be the priest of God don't pay


The next question is who and whom should I pay my tithe to?

If you are thinking which pastor is worthy to receive my tithe then we go further to
(1 Corinthians 9:7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?

9:8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?

9:9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for
oxen?

9:10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.

9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

9:12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.

9:13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?

9:14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel
should live of the gospel.) If your pastor as ministered unto you
spiritual things then he/she is worthy to receive your tithe and
offering.


And God Almighty went further to encourage people to pay their tithe
and offering by
(Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

3:9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not
destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.)...

Paying of tithe and offering is never by compulsion but it is very necessary because it is a means of livelihood for the priest to concentrate more on their spiritual assignment....
