I did this and got PPR within 24hrs.

My pending application is already 35 months (december 2014) and average processing time is currently 32months.I sent them an email stating this and got PPR within 24hours.

You need to be very careful with this else you will experience delays in your application and that maybe traumatic especially when your application mates starts getting PPR.

Explain concisely why you were denied the visa. If you have the visa rejection letter attached it. Also state it in your letter of explanation. Also draw their attention that you were successfully granted the visa later on.

When you are done and have submitted. Start praying to your God that the program assistant in CIO is passionate enough not to hold your application and send it to London. London is known for thorough checks and hence waste a lot of time. However, you would still get your PPR

Can someone please shed more light.

What if I dont know nor remember what the reason for refusal was? And I dont have a rejection letter.

Is there a way I can find out this information?

Plus what if the visa was refused at the London visa office for a Visa application to canada. I honestly cannot remember the reason?

What do u advice?

I currently reside in Canada and i did mine from here.
I went to the police station in Regina and they requested for two IDs to confirm my identity . they gave me their form to fill my details and my thumb prints were taken on another form , which was signed by the officer that did it .
This was scanned and sent to Alagbon

For Inland FSW applicants, how long does it take to move from NA2 to IP2 nowadays? Do you have any idea please?

yingman:
Let me share my IELTS journey with you, at least to motivate you.

First attempt in February
L 8.5
R 8.5
W 6.5
S 7.5
Back then, I knew very little about Skill Transferability factors & Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level per ability. So i decided against going for an EOR. Ended up in the pool with a CRS of 393 in May.
The delay was due to the waiting period for WES to issue my ECA.

Second attempt in August
L 7.5
R 7
W 7
S 7
CRS was below my previous score and I made sure to apply for an EOR for all sections excluding the reading section.
I did this and immediately applied for a third attempt a few weeks later.

Third attempt same August
L 9
R 8
W 7.5
S 7.5
Entered the pool with a CRS of 441.

Still awaiting the outcome on my EOR for the second attempt.

It is so depressing when you wait a while to give IELTS a shot with huge expectations and in the end you slip by a slight margin.
Money wasted still towards a dream...but it's your dream, and to achieve it we should do everything we can.

It's up to you now. If you have the funds and you are confident that you deserved a better score, make an enquiry.
If possible register to retake the test again, prepare diligently while you await the outcome of the EOR.

Unfortunately, you have to state the reason why you were denied a visa. It’s acceptable that you may not have the refusal letter, but the reason is important.

I know there is information sharing between Canada and most western embassies, like the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand etc but I don’t know how detailed the information sharing is. I also remember that the US has a public website where you can see those denied a visa and for entrants and exit of the US.

It will be very vague to just indicate you were refused a visa without stating a reason, that may require the VO to investigate further and as a result increases time delays. If the visa denial was from Canada House, London, then your application will definitely move there. You can be honest and say you don’t know why you were refused a visa especially if the reason was not communicated. LVO should be able to spool your application and see the reason.

I reject this in Jesus name! He will have swift movement, amen!

I wish him to have swift movement. But I don’t want this to turn into I serve God more than you situation, because there are lot of people still waiting - that doesn’t mean they serve the devil. There are also a lot of people who have gotten their PPRs too.

My advice was not for those who have submitted because there is nothing you can do other than to wait. Some people are fortunate to get lenient Case officers/Program Assistants in CIO who carry out initial reviews and forward to Ottawa; others may not be that fortunate as their application will be thoroughly scruntized and then forwarded to a Local Visa Office for more review.

My main is to draw the consciousness of those yet to submit to be clinical with the documentations they are providing so that it enables an independent officer to form a conclusion quickly. Thus, saving the applicant considerable time and emotional stress.

Whilst I thank you for coming to my defense, I am not mad at that. It’s a typical Nigerian weakness of not owing up. I do not wish him ill.

I am saying this because I have seen firsthand the emotional trauma this experience can create. The first shock is when 50% of your AOR group getting PPR and no significant movement in your application. The next shock is to realized that your application is still residing at CIO for 3 months and they are not willingly to talk to you.

Avoid these stress and be clinical. That your friend or neighbor said reference letter was sufficient for him/her doesn’t mean it will be sufficient for you. Every application is unique.

Your friend or neighbor may be working in a reputable multinational company and you work for a local company with or without a functional website. There may also be a huge demand for their work skills in Canada. Their NOC may not be the same with yours. Their profession may not be regulated unliked yours that is regulated.

You know, following simple instructions if what causes problems for a lot of us... CIC simply requires that we submit a reference letter... and in a particular format. Why submit what they didn't request? I believe that shows a high level of desperation and disregard. You might as well add your result from every course in school and probably your matriculation number, maybe a picture of your graduation as well, etc...

Each section has specific instructions... try to adhere to them strictly. No one should get worried about not being able to provide payslips, employment letter nor other documents mentioned here that were not requested by CIC. Loads of people on here have gotten their Visas without hassles nor delay! If you can't get the reference letter in the required format, then you can consider other supporting documents and add an LOE.

These are my thots... pls go ahead with what makes you comfortable.

Boss13:
I think it will be unfair of me to read that reference letter is sufficient enough for A11.2 (Eligibility) and I won’t say anything. What I have come to understand in this journey is that if you approach it with a lazy attitude, there are some VOs that will address your laziness.

I keep repeating - you don’t want to go through the emotional trauma of not seeing any significant movement in your application and when you send a mail, the response is that you should minimize communication. Canadians are subtle with insult. Trust me, you don’t want to experience that. You don’t want to be on the phone and a CPC agent is telling you that he/she cannot see your file and your file is wide open on their computer screen.

Some people are fortunate, but not all will be. Save yourself that trouble of worries, less sleep, lack of concentration, unnecessary anger and package your application like a professional.

I actually thought you were being sarcastic with your original post. Boss, this is not the TRUTH. A reference letter in CIC format is very sufficient for this process. If you feel like adding extras, that's entirely up to you.

What is a CIC reference letter format? Are you aware people submit reference letter in plain sheet of paper and they still get PPR. The first thing is to understand the purpose of the reference letter and on the account of reading some many GCMS notes from multiple applicants from different countries; it is prove your A11.2 - Eligibility. To show that the work skills depicted in that reference sheets is actually true and comparable to the applicant NOC; adequate.

Submitting only reference letter may be sufficient for an ExxonMobil staff but not sufficient for an Ade & Sons Limited staff for eligibility purpose. Both companies are different in terms of reputation. So telling an Ade & Sons limited staff to submit only reference letter to justify his/her eligibility would be grossly insufficient.

It is equally the same as asking a self employed individual to submit only reference letter without supporting it with business registration documents, tax clearance, payslips and a sample of invoiced document (to show the work he/she has done in the past).

Hello Boss13,

With regard to the last point you made, it is not the same thing. According to CIC, a self-employed applicant should provide his/her articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience). This is exactly what you stated. Therefore, any self-employed applicant that wanna submit reference letter only is on his/her own.

You've made your point and it has been noted. Kindly let us move forward and stop this back and forth arguments about proving work experience. Let everyone do what will make them sleep at night.

The more you keep arguing, the more it will lead to the use of derogatory word. We cannot use 20 pages to argue and discuss how to prove work experience.

Best regards,
GS
