The J-17 can never progress as fast as the J10. The J10 will always have more a advanced radar, better EW suite and choice of armaments available.

Although I prefer the J10 but there is no choice of armament or EW it can sport that will not be allowed on the JF, However it trumps the JF in Hard points and MTOW (sobs). downside to the J10 is it's unfortunate range, I dont see how we can compensate for it

I want to see how the JF will perform under our conditions (downtime, MTBO etc etc)

if you think long term, due to the fact that PAAF operates the J10 the amount of money the Chinese government is willing to throw at it in the long run (next 10-25 years) in terms of upgrades cannot be matched by PAC on the thunder.

True. Not to take a shade at the JF deal but I sometime think the NAF is using the JF as a "thank you" to Pakistan for a yesteryear favor

These are debatable. The JF-17 and the J-10 are essentially the aircrafts, with similar systems on board each other. The JF-17 is more like a J-10 lite version.
