There is no problem. He is free to be foolhardy. The only thing is that he not free to circumvent the consequences of his recalcitrance.

Buhari, experience is d best teacher, but not a wonderful teacher. Do not plan to learn from experience, learn from Mugabe, cos 29th may 2019 is not far.
Vote Buhari out?

The army is working for the VP. That is what the army wants... they warned him to reinstate the VP when Mugabe removed him and put his wife as VP.

The army wants a bloodless coup... that is NOT weak, that is being civil. Mugabe has nobody to fight for him, he has literally cut off ties with countries that could have helped him. Even if he insists there is nothing he can do anymore. It is just like Jammeh from the Gambia - nobody is willing to fight for Mugabe.

Even his presidential guards are NOT interested in putting up a resistance... Mugabe is on his own this time - he would die a lonely old man if he doesn't take care.

PointZerom:
What the army should have done was to seize power and detain him permanently, by calling the VP to take over means that the army is weak and Mugabe want to explore that weakness.

Speakdatruth:
That's against the transition process you know. If you observe the Army is trying not to make this seem like a coup. They actually are not calling it a coup but a transition that's why the VP was immediately invited to take over. The process is not weakness or a show of respect for Mugabe, I think it's because of not wanting external intervention in their country.
All the same, Mugabe is taking the advantage

In as much that not in support of his plan to make his wife his successor, he shld not be forcefully dethroned given that he has served his country all his life.and has withheld d unity of his country till date and he is d only black President I know that told d west off without looking back and many more. There is no perfect president in d world today no matter how bad u think he is Mugabe is better than Buhari at leastugabe has certificate to show for d secondary school he attended.d military shld respect d constitution and allow Robert to peacefully hand over power to whoever emerge as a winner of d upcoming election.

The army should up their game seeing that Mugabe is a stubborn he-goat.

smiley The man has zero support from his presidential guards and the country's police. And he is old, fragile and almost senile... seriously is that the kind of person they want to show power with? ... whether he accepts or not... he has been removed.. they don't even need to send him on exile - he is not a threat - it his wife that "may" be a threat.... I said "may".

Let's watch as it unfolds. But one thing I want them to do is to cage him irrespective of his age.

Western media like this article will always want you to believe that Mugabe destroyed the economy without mentioning that western sanctions was responsible just to punish Mugabe for land redistribution. Tsvangirai who just returned from London has been the stooge that Britain has frantically tried to put in power in Zimbabwe.

Do that and you will have a civil war. Mugabe is loved and that's why the Army is handling him with utmost respect, the problem is Grace his wife that is power hungry.

I don't think you truly understand the 48 laws of power, Mugabe is the power and face of Zimbabwe, they killed Gaddafi and Saddam and Libya and Iraq have yet to recover till date.
Mugabe is not the enemy of ZANU-PF but his wife Grace

Stop following this story from western media perspective, the AU and SADC will not tolerate unconstitutional removal of Mugabe from power, they have to look for a honourable exit for him for the sake of stability in Zimbabwe.
Re: Robert Mugabe Resisting Army Pressure To Quit, Insists He's Still President by Guyman02: 2:12pm On Nov 16, 2017
The western media is not supporting the coup with propaganda because those in charge are still from the old block of resistance fighters led by Mugabe who are only angry that his wife wanted to takeover power
Re: Robert Mugabe Resisting Army Pressure To Quit, Insists He's Still President by Nobody: 2:26pm On Nov 16, 2017
Nobody would fight for Mugabe and I can place a bet on that. AU would sit down and look... SADC would do nothing... it would have been honourable for him to have conducted free and fair elections and handed power peacefully.

If one of those betting companies were taking bets on this kind of issue (even though I have never done betting before), I would love to bet that Mugabe is NEVER coming back and the AU and SADC would likely do NOTHING except "diplomatic talk"...

Mugabe lost it when he decided to remain in power "forever"... he has literally ruined the country's economy yet he blames western countries... the problem is never his fault, always outside influence.

Which soldiers would put up the resistance? grin grin grin grin

Mugabe is loved, yet the people, police and his presidential guards didn't put up a resistance to the army take over? grin grin grin grin

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is loved that is why the people of Turkey came out en-mass to resist the coup in Turkey - that is love! Zimbabweans would sit in their house and do nothing of such! grin grin grin grin

Well... we are watching in HD as the situation unfolds in Zimbabwe.

Mugabe should resign in peace. There is no way the military can give power back to him, they know the consequences. Maybe he is ready to die
So intelligence reports show that his own VP had been planning a post-Mugabe future for over a year, Mugabe removed him, and the same VP orchestrated this coup so he can take power forcefully, and you say Mugabe should resign in peace?

That VP from all indications will be worse than Mugabe.

The SADC and AU should implore Mugabe to insist he is the President. Let them imprison him and let's see how long their ridiculous army can stand the elite SA force.

Mugabe is in a position of strength. No one in Africa would dare support a military coup overthrowing a sitting President. Whoever does that would be next in line to receive the Mugabe treatment. The West should not try nonsense that wouldn't fly in any other continent on the planet.
