The first of two DRDO-owned and Indian Navy-operated Missile-Range Instrumentation Ships (MRIS) is presently undergoing outfitting alongside the 560-metre jetty of the MoD-owned Hindustan Shipyard Ltd (HSL) in Visakhapatnam. Officially dubbed as an Ocean Surveillance Ship (P-11184), its keel-laying ceremony had taken place on June 30, 2014. Sanctioned at a cost of Rs.1,500 crore, this MRIS is expected to be commissioned into naval service by the first quarter of 2018 .

The MRIS, when operational, will host two types of tracking radars: a long-range L-band active phased-array tracking radar for monitoring the flight trajectory of ballistic missiles like ICBMs and SLBMs, and an X-band precision tracking radar, this too being an active phased-array type that will be used for tracking the in-bound flight trajectories of MIRV-type warheads. The long-range L-band active phased-array tracking radar will be a derivative of the indigenously designed and developed L-band, monopulse Multi-Object Tracking Radar (MOTR) that is now operational at ISRO’s Sriharikota-based Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR).

The second MRIS is being built at a cost of Rs.425 crores by the Kochi-based Cochin Shipyard Ltd and is expected to be delivered by late 2019. Contract for this vessel was inked in early August 2015. Once ready, this 130-metre-long MRIS will be equipped with a smaller version of the MOTR, known as the M-MOTR, as well as X-band active phased-array precision-tracking radar. This MRIS will be used for monitoring the flight trajectories of long-range subsonic and supersonic land-attack cruise missiles, especially during their terminal phases of flight.

Manned non-stealth nuclear bombers is a stupid move and waste of funds. Russia is not thinking right. Most central europe nations can even shoot down these planes before they leave Russia using mobile patriot missile systems.

There is a direction technology is going and Putin himself got it right.

A bomber will be accompanied by strike aircrafts and EW platforms. Doctrine differs.

The EW aircrafts goes in to jam enemy radar systems while the bomber goes on his mission. In case of an incoming boegy, strike aircrafts goes in.

It's obvious we're not as wise as experienced generals so dont say its a wrong decision.

electronic order of battlefield should be same for both sides, if emitters on one side is switched on , it will be prudent to assume that they will be detected on the other side. SEAD/DEAD missions r generally conducted before or simultaneously with offensive strikes. this allows high priority strike packages to conduct their business unhindered.

also what about non stealth manned bombers launching salvo of long range stealth missiles both subsonic and supersonic from the extreme periphery of target IADS

how will u beat that

T-160 is a supersonic bomber with terrain following capability , generally standalone it will adopt low level intrusion flight to ingress defended areas, climb up to appropriate altitude for weapon release and then engage afterburner to escape at speeds of mach 2 , by the time fighters r scrambled or even radar tracks r established it will be long gone.

T-160 primary role is air launched nuclear weapons delivery.

once the alarms for nuclear Armageddon is sounded , almost all available T-160 will be airborne , accompanied by mid air air refullers
they will take pre gamed flight paths to their respective varied launch areas and altitudes, then they will be busy launching their loads at their pre designated targets , and then look for the nearest surviving airfields to reload etc or they will keep circling untill the fuel runs out .

during nuclear exchange apart from nuclear submarines in the oceans etc , airborne platforms r most survival platforms , anything on the ground will be toast or fried out .

nuclear delivery aircraft's and bombers r specially hardened to survive severe EMP pulses from high altitude nuclear blast . plus some of them can fly at the periphery of space which grants them some immunity.

Vlad's decrepit economy was always going to genuflect and lift up her skirts to be shafted by the prowess of your real rival (only a matter of when, not if; my economics major coming to use). India holds some powerful geo-political cards though, and despite my disdain for Modi's politics, I trust him to play them far more adroitly than the antediluvian Nehru/Gandhi lot.
The buzzing of the near mosquito notwithstanding. grin grin grin

I wouldn't be supprise if somebody say china made cars are craps, especial those low cost cars.

but this one, is probably the best slightly-luxury car CHINA ever made. it embraced geely&volvo (china sweden )latest technology ,while the price is just equals to a volkswagen SUV,very competitive.
