A young man from Bayelsa state - is apparently over the moon after catching and killing a big snake with his friend in a bush. According to the guy who shared the photos some days ago, the slain reptile would be used used to prepare Egwusi and pepper soup as he noted that one man's food is another man's poison.

Below is what he wrote on Facebook in Pidgin English;

See wetin me and my friend kill today... Is even far better than wetin we go do for bush. According to my friend man shall not live by bread alone but man shall feed on serpent and snakes LOL... Egwusi soup and pepper soup get ready cos am coming. Join me because another man's food is another man's poison, na so Tekno talk am for GO.

Killing of snakes is scriptural but eating of snakes is definitely madness and foolishness at the same time.

Huh, deadly viper, can be dangerous even when dead, he'd be careful so the bone doesn't Pierce his skin in anyway

We need to set up a Love-A-Snake, Save-A-Snake Trust Fund in this country to protect our serpents. The trust fund should promise all those who are able to capture a snake without killing it an handsome reward.


Government should also promulgate anti-snake policies just like we have against elephant poaching and the likes.


This is almost becoming a genocide, all our snakes are being killed for food.

The rate @ which you guys eat any animal is alarming, that doesn't look like a python but a venomous snake..... don't go and eat snake pepper soup n pass away.
