Can I use a regular sata maybe slim-sata in place of the ssd?

Hello,

pls I have a new system (I bought last year) but the board soon developed a fault this year.
My mistake however was resorting to a system s repair guy rather than the supplier/warranty (in Lagos),now the warranty is now void.
I am really looking at repairing it since the system is still quite new.
I know the motherboard is the most important part but I have not been able to fix it since repairers including in [lagos] say I'll pay 45k to 60k for a new board BUT without any guarantee after the installation. I.e. like a 50:50 gamble.

pls do you assist with repairs also?
note: This is a core i7 system with dedicated graphics card.
