I Chinedu Francis Obasi has finally decided to quit football betting. I was examining my life since I started this venture and I weeped for myself. I am a young Graduate full of prospects but out of the urge to follow the trend and try some luck, I joined this destructive and demeaning venture. As I'm typing this, I don't have 200 both in my wallet and account, why? Betting. I used to bet with 5k before. Sometimes 2,3k but with time I reduced to 5h and 2h due to lack of funds. Shamefully, I even started begging people for funds here. Imagine! Something I won't be proud of doing if my friends were here and knew my true identity. Everytime I see small cash, I use and bet. I don't call family and friends anymore cos I use the money for airtime trying to win millions which fails too. I have even resorted to borrowing from friends since I lost my job when I see a sure game but all to no avail. Right now I'm very broke that I have to take a decision to quit. I have gave grown too lean and hungry cos I can't even take care of myself. I postponed barbering my hair twice last week cos I used the 3h to bet. That's how bad it has become. The psychological effect waiting for a team on my slip to score has on me is heartwrenching . Imagine Arsenal today. Well I can go on and on to list the effects this thing has on youths but let me stop. I know for sure that my dad won't be proud that his son who graduated last year is a chronic gambler. I don't have any notable achievement but my bet history runs into 185k total deposit and of which I lost eventually too. God help me as I take this path but remember the question I asked you all earlier on. Na betting your Papa train you? I have quit and will proceed on rehabilitation with immediate effect. God give me a job too. I wish you all see the light someday soon too.

What I found out is that majority of sports bettors in Nigeria are recreational punters . We have little or no professional sports bettors in Nigeria. That's exactly what the bookies want...they want more of recreational punters like u with no proven betting strategy or system and who bet expecting outrageous profits. Imagine people betting with N100 to get N100k that's 100,000% return on investment, They are not retreating it as a business

A good numbers of punters in the UK are professional sports bettors and they are wreaking havoc on the bookies over there to the extent that many UK bookies are restricting, limiting and even banning accounts due to excessive winnings.
